Job Description

We are seeking a experienced Product Line Manager (PLM) to join the planning PLM group of our 800G Pluggable Program.

In this strategic role, you will manage the lifecycle of our current 800G ZR/ZR+ coherent modules and define their evolutions.

You will bridge the gap between development and commercial deployment, ensuring our pluggable portfolio integrates seamlessly with both our internal optical transport platforms (1830 PSS/GX) and third-party Network Equipment Manufacturers (NEMs) routers and switches for major webscalers as well as carrier service provides (CSPs).

  • Program Leadership: Drive comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for 800G coherent pluggable modules, ensuring alignment with market windows and customer requirements.
  • System Integration: Oversee the strategic integration of pluggables into Nokia’s flagship optical transport systems—specifically the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS) and 1830 Global Express (GX) families—as well as third-party NEM switches and router platforms.
  • Customer & Business focus: Act as the technical authority in high-stakes customer interactions and RFP responses, translating technical superiority into commercial wins.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, and Sales teams to manage the product lifecycle.
  • Go to market: define and execute the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy, including value proposition, pricing models, and competitive positioning

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: MS/PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant industry experience in optical networking, coherent modules, DSP or optical components.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep technical understanding of optical technologies, including coherent optics (ZR/ZR+), DSP technologies and photonic integrated circuits (PICs), client transceivers, optical metro/long-haul DWDM systems, or submarine networks.
  • Networking: Experience in planning and designing large-scale optical networks (multi-site, multi-product, multi-layer architectures).

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Prior experience in a PLM or Technical Marketing role within a Tier-1 vendor.
  • Production & NPI: Proven experience in productionizing optical modules or components. You have successfully taken high-complexity optical hardware from the prototype stage through New Product Introduction (NPI) to high-volume manufacturing.
  • Strong public speaking skills for industry conferences and customer executive briefings.
  • Experience with open optical networking standards (OIF, Open ROADM).
