We are looking to hire an Product Line Lead Planning immediately in a Hybrid (50/50) capacity at our Global Headquarters in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

The Product Line Lead, Planning is accountable for setting the strategic direction, governance, and performance of a portfolio of products within a defined domain. This role ensures that multiple Product Managers are aligned to a cohesive product line vision that advances the company’s growth objectives, brand strategy, and consumer value proposition. Operating at a portfolio level across business strategy, consumer insights, and technology, the Product Line Manager translates enterprise priorities into an integrated, multi‑product roadmap that drives sustained and measurable business outcomes.


As the steward of the product line, the Product Line Manager leads and coaches Product Managers to balance near‑term delivery with long‑term value creation, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reuse across products. The role partners closely with senior business leaders, functional stakeholders, and technology leadership to shape investment decisions, manage dependencies, and optimize outcomes across the domain. By maintaining a strong external and internal perspective, the Product Line Manager ensures the product portfolio remains competitive, compliant, and aligned with global and regional strategies, while continuously evolving to meet changing customer and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the WHAT and WHY of the product line strategy and portfolio roadmap by setting a cohesive, multi‑product vision that maximizes business value, optimizes investment, minimizes delivery risk, and ensures customer and stakeholder satisfaction across the domain. Ensure individual product strategies align to enterprise, brand, and technology priorities.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to Product Managers to ensure consistent execution against business expectations and outcomes. Establish clear standards for product management practices, foster continuous improvement, and ensure teams are operating effectively and sustainably without compromising quality or long‑term value.
  • Own product line governance and portfolio health, ensuring prioritization, sequencing, and dependencies across products are actively managed. Guide Product Managers in applying consistent definitions of ready and done, while focusing at the portfolio level on flow, predictability, value realization, and risk management rather than sprint‑level execution.
  • Act as the primary product line subject matter expert (SME) by articulating the overall value proposition, capabilities, and strategic intent of the product portfolio to senior leadership and business stakeholders. Translate business strategy into an integrated product line roadmap, ensuring individual product roadmaps are aligned, complementary, and value‑driven.
  • Identify and assess new opportunities across the domain to increase business value, scalability, reuse, and customer impact. Guide Product Managers in exploring innovation, rationalization, and modernization opportunities that strengthen the overall product ecosystem.
  • Serve as the voice of the product organization to leadership, representing product performance, risks, trade‑offs, and opportunities at a portfolio level. Advocate for appropriate funding, capacity, and organizational support while promoting the achievements, impact, and maturity of the product teams
  • Maintain continuous personal learning and development to remain technological relevancy in current and emerging technologies
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10-12 Years IT Experience with a significant amount of time spent in developing and supporting applications in the product line’s domain.
  • 5+Year’s people leadership Experience
  • Experience of Agile/ Agile Scrum with tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbal.
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Proven track record of delivering in a highly complex global ecosystem.
  • Experience managing complex global projects, processes, and systems.
  • Experience of modern cloud-based application delivery.
  • Business / Value case development.

Base Salary: $121,900-$219,410


Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
