
The purpose of this position is to develop and execute plans that maximize asset value during the late stages of the product life cycle.
To achieve these objectives, the person assigned to this position develops plans based on the most appropriate measure, or combination of measures, selected from a broad range of options—including product divestment, development of new distribution models, optimization of pricing strategies, and acceleration of product discontinuation processes—and leads the activities required for their implementation.
Develop strategies to maximize value of assets during the late-stage of product life cycle amid the challenges for profitability, sustainability, or continuation of commercialization.

Job Complexity
In the late stages of the pharmaceutical product life cycle, changes in the market environment cause product profitability to decline more rapidly and significantly.
In this environment, life cycle management plan including business development approaches, measures to maintain profitability of patent expired products and product discontinuation is critical to secure financial resources for new assets development and to renew the product portfolio.
The life cycle management leads will be required capabilities for developing business plans and for negotiating with multiple internal/external stakeholders.
This management plan is needed to be tailored to specific situation of each product.
