Your RoleShopBack is building a lean, high-velocity AI-Native Special Projects team to build the future of AI agents for millions of users. As the Lead, you will lead a lean team of product generalists to build agents powered by AI. You will report to the CPO.  You are the bridge between ShopBack’s large first-party data moat and traffic, and the end-user experience. You will be 80% builder and 20% strategist. You will not manage via spreadsheets; you will lead by setting the architectural vision while also leading by executing and shipping hands-on.

Your Adventure Ahead

  • Strong Execution: Architect and build the first versions of our AI agents. You are the "First Builder” on this team.
  • Rapid Iteration: Move from ideation to a working prototype in days. You value Velocity over Complexity.
  • AI Implementation: Design and implementation of custom multi-agent AI solutions, integrating both state-of-the-art LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini) or suitable open models using modern orchestration frameworks such as Langchain’s LangGraph to create dynamic and scalable AI agents.
  • Data Driven: Work with our data teams to turn the trove of proprietary first part data into fine-tuned context for our AI agents.
  • Leadership: Lead, grow and develop a lean team of AI-native full-stack generalists who share your bias for action and product-first mindset.
  • Product Discovery: Spend time with prospective customers, including merchants, to understand their pain points. You define the problem before you build the solution.

Essentials to Succeed

  • AI Native: You understand foundational model latent space and RAG-enhanced architectures, and how to handle non-deterministic outputs. You know when an LLM is the answer and when a simple heuristic is better.
  • Full-Stack Capability: You can navigate the entire stack—from highly scalable Python-based agentic backends to a polished Flutter interface for cross platform UI/UX.
  • Collaboration: collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate modern AI stacks into existing infrastructure without getting bogged down in red tape.
  • Impact First: You don't care about "lines of code"; you care about "GMV uplift" and “Users’ time and cost saved."
  • High Ownership: You treat this team with extreme ownership. You find the data you need, you talk to users, and you ship.
  • User Obsessed: You make something people want. And you realise that for an AI agent, the interface is the personality. You care about how the AI "feels" to the user.
