Job Description

We are looking for a Product Governance Specialist within the Digital Assets area to take a front‑office, product‑embedded role, shaping how our digital asset products are governed, launched, and operated across key jurisdictions. Saxo is expanding its Digital Assets offering within a rapidly evolving regulatory and commercial landscape.

The role

This role sits close to the business and works in daily partnership with the Digital Assets Product Owner, ensuring products are designed and scaled in line with global regulatory expectations while remaining commercially viable. You will combine regulatory judgement, governance ownership, and product understanding, acting as a trusted partner to Product, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and senior stakeholders.

You will be responsible for interpreting complex and evolving digital assets regulation and translating it into clear, practical guidance that enables confident product decisions. You will own and maintain key governance artefacts, support approvals, and ensure regulatory considerations are embedded early throughout the product lifecycle.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, who can balance regulatory rigour with commercial reality, and who wants to influence real products not just frameworks.

Key responsibilities

The role focuses on ensuring Saxo’s digital asset products are developed and operated in line with applicable regulation, while supporting ongoing product development and commercial objectives.

  • Assess and interpret digital asset regulatory requirements across key jurisdictions, including EU / ESMA (with a focus on MiCA), UK / FCA, and Switzerland / FINMA, and translate these into clear guidance for the product teams on what is permitted, restricted, or higher risk.
  • Own or co‑own digital asset‑specific governance materials such as policies, procedures, control frameworks, product governance documentation, and regulatory assessments, ensuring they remain accurate and up to date as regulation and product scope change.
  • Prepare and support governance approvals in relevant Saxo forums, providing clear regulatory context and rationale for decisions taken.
  • Work closely with the Digital Assets Product Owner across the full product lifecycle, from early design and scoping through launch and ongoing operation, ensuring regulatory considerations are built in early and addressed pragmatically.
  • Act as a central point of contact internally on digital asset regulatory and governance topics, working closely with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to ensure alignment between first and second line.
  • Support discussions with senior stakeholders by providing clear and balanced regulatory input.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel or advisors where needed, supporting regulatory submissions, licensing activity, and responses to regulatory inquiries, and translating external advice into clear actions for the business.
  • Monitor regulatory developments across relevant jurisdictions, assess the impact on existing and planned products, and support updates to governance, controls, or product design as required.

Your profile

You have solid experience in digital asset regulation and are comfortable applying regulatory requirements in a practical, business focused way.

  • Experience with digital assets regulation within at least one of FINMA, FCA, or ESMA environments, and the ability to assess regulatory developments across jurisdictions.
  • Background in a first line, product facing, or advisory role within financial services.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with a broad range of stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Good commercial understanding and the ability to balance regulatory requirements with product and market considerations.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where regulation is still developing, using judgement to navigate unclear or evolving requirements.

Next step

We look forward to receiving applications from candidates who want to work at the intersection of digital assets, regulation, and product development.
