ABOUT GAMING
The Gaming branch is responsible to achieve annual revenue targets through provincially operated gaming activities that align with AGLC's vision of responsible gaming. The branch ensures that Gaming activities in the province are operated with integrity and social responsibility, aligning with Gaming Regulations and Board Policy and deliver on commitments to stakeholders in the province of Alberta.

Gaming activities included Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs), Electronic Table Games (ETGs), Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs), Lottery and Online Gambling.

Are you looking for a position that will utilize your technical expertise and allow you to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the Gaming field? If so, we have a position for you! The Gaming Branch is looking for a highly technical individual with electronic gaming experience to join our team in Technical Compliance as a Product Evaluation Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Compliance this position is responsible for performing evaluations and analysis on electronic gaming hardware and software to ensure compliance with provincial rules and guidelines. This position provides key technical experience for Casino and VLT networks, including performing system entry into test and production environments to ensure data integrity for daily operations of casino and VLT environments. This position is also responsible for testing player promotions and verifying entries in to the production environments while working with the marketing team to ensure proper operation.

To excel in this role, you must have exceptional attention to detail and the capability to perform repetitive tasks with sustained focus. This is crucial for identifying firmware faults and anomalies, ensuring the security and integrity of the firmware used in video lottery retail and casino networks. You need to be able to work independently within a team environment. Excellent written and verbal skills are needed to be able to clearly communicate technical issues of significant importance. You will also need a sound understanding of the video/slot network and data communication protocols, including iViews, iLinks, Controllers, VLT’s and slots.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Post-secondary diploma in electronic/electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent technical background.
  • 2+ years related experience in a computer system environment and video/slot field services is required.
  • An intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Visio, SharePoint, Excel, Word) is needed.
  • Assets include:
    • Previous technical experience in the gaming environment and associated analyst experience.
    • Experience providing evaluation, development, firmware specification and technical training.
    • Previous experience using IGT, Intelligen, or Bally CMS system.
