Duties & Responsibilities

●Products Cost Reduction – 35%

• Continuously review and improve the manufacturing process, develop innovative and intelligent processes to reduce labor hours and cycle time.
• Reduce the product BOM cost by implementing robust processes, new materials verification and introduction, material scrappage improvement, so as to improve product competitiveness.
• Continuously improve the first pass yield (FPY) and materials utilization rate to ensure FPY meets the goal and reduce the product BOM cost.

Product daily maintenance, Failure Handling and Root Cause Analysis – 25%

• Familiar with theory of assigned products, carry out failure analysis with the guide of theory.
• Experienced in RCA (Root Cause Analysis). Find out root causes behind the failures through engineering tools like DoE analysis, Fish Bone Technique, 5Whys, 6-Sigma and etc., work out Corrective and Preventive actions to prevent failure(s) from re-occurring again.
• Compile manufacturing working instructions, QCP, FMEA and other process documents after PCP and modify these documents with RCA findings and process improvements.
• Train operators to operate according to process documents requirements.

New Products Support – 20%

• Support the DFX analysis form the early life cycle of the product, thus improving the manufacturability of the product.
• Carry out process audit/review before PCP, to review the lessons learned for the new product.
• Support NPI/R&D by providing PE related assistants to ensure new projects can be moved to Mass Production more efficient.
• Review customer requirements and work with Sales/PLM/R&D/NPI teams on winning proposals – specs & pricing
• Improve production reliability by process improvements according to lesson learned, RCA findings and etc.
• and lead the RMA failure analysis, generate FA report and provide rework instructions.

Product Reliability Improvement – 10%

• Improve production reliability by process improvements according to lesson learned, RCA findings and etc.

Customer Support – 10%

• Provide technical support to customers and lead customer audit/visit.

Qualification & Requirements

● Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Optics, Telecommunication, Physics, Electronics, Photonics, Mechanics, Automation or equivalent technical discipline.
• Master’s degree preferred, For Automation, Doctor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of working experience in Optical communications/Electronics Manufacturing (or related) industry and above.
• Product Engineering work experience is preferred.

●Skills & Other Requirements

• Experience in EDFA, ILS (System Product), OCM, Yield improvement and Cost Reduction.
• Capacity of Leading Complicated Product Failure Root Cause Analysis.
• Capacity of Project Management, to track project progress and alter gating items required help.
• Good command of English communication, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Good spoken English preferred.
• Capacity of optical theory to infer hypothesis based on experiments phenomenon and data.
• Capacity of understanding and operating quality analysis tools, such as Minitab to run Design of Experiments (DoE), Pareto yield analysis and SPC monitor etc.
