OF POSITION:
This position supports the Product Line Manager (PLM) – Multifuse and is responsible for SinglFuse and POWrFuse products. Serving as the technical and applications expert for these products, the role assists field application engineers (FAE) and sales teams in identifying and developing new opportunities and new products. Primary responsibilities include supporting product applications; recommending new product selections; developing and maintaining data sheets, technical reports, and drawings; creating marketing communications materials; managing product lifecycle activities; conducting competitive market analysis; and delivering product training.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES (End Results Expected):
Product Engineering Responsibilities
1. Provide global technical support for customer-related sales, engineering, and quality activities.
2. Participate in new product development as the technical liaison among the development team and Sales/FAE/customer, supporting activities from opportunity identification through qualification and production release.
3. Coordinate cross-functional efforts (Engineering, Manufacturing, Customer Service, Quality, etc.) to deliver requested information, solutions, and responses in a timely manner.
4. Drive and achieve agreed-upon Engineering, New Product Development (NPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), and design-in objectives for SinglFuse products.
5. Support Sales and FAEs during customer visits as requested by the PLM, and conduct regular reviews of key design-in and sales opportunities as aligned with the PLM.
6. Develop and deliver product training for Sales, FAEs, and authorized distributors, as requested by the PLM.
7. Monitor technology trends and the competitive landscape, including competitors’ product portfolios and new product releases.
8. Recommend product line enhancements, extensions, consolidations, and technical improvements to maintain competitiveness and create competitive advantage.
9. Develop and maintain product documentation (e.g., datasheets, agency certifications, test data) and sales collateral (e.g., brochures, white papers, application briefs, evaluation kits).
10. Manage product lifecycle communications with Marcom, including New Product Introductions (NPI), Product Change Notifications (PCN), and Product Obsolescence Memos (POM).
11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Minimum Honors University degree in Electronics Engineering, preferably Masters
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: At least 5 yearsof experience in the electronics industry. Have a passive electronics background with experience in technical writing. Possess interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of customers and management.
OTHER SKILLS: Strong time management and organizational skills are essential. Candidates must be flexible, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and willing to travel as required. The ideal candidate understands the design, evaluation, and sales process, as well as the role of a Product Engineer. Demonstrated self-motivation and original thinking will distinguish top candidates. Multilingual capability, including English proficiency, is required. Working knowledge of agency certifications and industry standards (including UL, TUV, AEC-Q, etc.) is also required.
