Job Description

Product Engineer I - Tissue will support the development of woven fabrics for the tissue market. Assist in pilot trials and perform technical analysis. Communicate ongoing project status and learnings. Collaborate with cross-functional team members and display a strong sense of urgency to deliver project timelines and objectives.

Qualifications

SAFETY AND PROCEDURES

· Follow all publicized safety policies/procedures and JIBS applicable to the job.

· Use appropriate PPE that has been identified on the Hazard Analysis for the department/role.

· Attend and participate in all safety training, safety meetings, audits and Behavior Based Safety programs assigned.

· Report all safety hazards observed. If capable, correct the safety hazard identified.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

· Conducts pilot trials and/or laboratory tests on multiple projects both independently and as a team member.

· Builds and tests laboratory prototypes of new product concepts.

· Produces documents, summarizes, interprets and reports laboratory data in support of an assigned R&D project and/or technical service task.

· Generates ideas for research or new products.

· Plans, conducts, schedules, and coordinates small projects.

· Gains knowledge of Albany products and markets

Uses knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing and laboratory equipment and testing processes to solve problems.

· Exercises judgment on the progress of the work and makes changes to tasks as needed.

· Delivers written reports and/or oral technical presentations on test or pilot trial results to leaders and managers.

· Designs custom equipment modifications or develops custom test methods as needed.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to develop, test, and optimize products, processes and materials.

REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:

· Applied Statistics and Design-of-Experiments Methodology

· Problem solving skills

· Good oral and written English skills

Ability to work independently or as part of a team

Required Experience:

· 2+ years work experience in an R&D, engineering, lab or equivalent technical/project work experience preferred.

Education Requirements:

High School Diplomar College diplomar Bachelor Degree x Masters degreer

Field of Study: Mechanical, Chemical, Paper, Textile, or other equivalent Engineering Discipline
