Product Engineer (Full Stack / Backend-Leaning)

Compensation: $130K–$210K base (varies by level and interview performance) + equity

Location: San Francisco, CA

Work Policy: 5 days/week in-office

Sponsorship: TN and OPT visa transfers supported

Stage: Seed-stage startup | $3.1M raised | YC-backed | 10+ enterprise customers

What Will You Do?

Design and ship full product features across frontend and backend layers.

Build and scale AI-driven interfaces used in high-stakes environments.

Work directly in React/Next.js, TypeScript, MySQL, and ClickHouse.

Collaborate closely with founders to solve real-time decisioning challenges balancing precision, speed, and user trust.

Run fast pilots, demos, and production rollouts across industries.

Contribute to architectural decisions that enable scaling to billions of events.

What Will You Need?

3+ years of software engineering experience (mid to senior level).

Experience in startup environments or strong signal backgrounds (top-tier schools, impressive GitHub, or top-tier tech companies).

Hands-on experience with React/Next.js, TypeScript, MySQL, and familiarity with ClickHouse.

Strong fundamentals in full stack development with the ability to own features end-to-end.

Passion for craftsmanship and strong opinions about code quality and product design.

Comfort working in a high-urgency, fast-paced, in-person environment.

Strongly Preferred

Growth-stage startup experience.

Experience at top-tier technology companies.

Experience with event sourcing, stream processing, or languages like Elixir, Rust, or Scala.

Must Not Have

Job hopping history.

Employment gaps without strong explanation.

Consulting-only background.

Long-time manager/CTO transitioning back to IC without recent hands-on depth.

Primarily DevOps or infrastructure-focused profile.

Experience limited to internal dashboards, refactoring, or low-complexity projects.

When it comes to recruiting, I’m not afraid to look outside the more traditional channels to find your candidate. (Just ask me about the time I hired a Lisp Engineer from Facebook!)

Born and raised in Texas, I have been on my own and working since I was 14. My adventures have taken me to Honolulu, through a paralegal career, co-founding my own startup, into college admissions, and somehow found my way to recruiting here in Los Angeles.

My background naturally lent itself to recruiting – an opportunity to intersect my years of professional experience and my desire to help others.

The key to my success lies in my ability to listen and collaborate with both hiring teams and candidates. Through that, I am able to provide end-to-end service and client/candidate satisfaction.

My current focus is developing teams for Technology Startups - From Leadership to interns and everything in between. I build HR, Ops, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Technical Support, Product and Support teams. I love working with Software Engineers (hello, Full Stack Node.js Devs!)
