Job Description

Scania Denmark is currently looking for a mechanical engineer to help us ensure technical support for our sales team in our exciting world of international transport solutions and our broad, sustainable product programme.

Whether you are newly graduated or planning to retire in a few years is not decisive for us. What matters most is that you have the motivation and professional competencies to become our technical expert and sparring partner for our salespeople. We will onboard you and help you learn everything about trucks that you do not already know, and doors can open for you in the growing transport industry if you have the interest and the capabilities.

Scania Denmark is part of the global company Scania and the market-leading supplier of trucks. We offer sales and service in more than 100 countries—something that would not be possible without the efforts of our more than 58,000 employees worldwide.

Leading the journey towards a sustainable transport system
At Scania, sustainable solutions are part of our strategy for the future—both in the products and services we offer the market and in how we run our business.

Product support for our sales team
You will be part of a product team of four people. We work closely together day-to-day and have a strong team spirit. As a support function for our sales team of approximately 30 salespeople, our technical communication paves the way for their success. Your workplace will be in Ishøj.

  • Vehicle approval and sales support
In a typical week, you will:
  • manage overall contact with authorities and monitor upcoming legislation
  • translate technical features into customer benefits and provide our salespeople with the necessary technical knowledge
  • help design special orders
  • actively participate in dialogue with bodybuilders about recommended solutions
  • provide guidance in connection with our electric rollout
  • help calculate optimal wheelbase, axle loads, etc. in the CAVA calculation programme
  • ADR tilt calculations

About you
To succeed and thrive in the role, it is important that you are service-minded and well organised, and that you meet deadlines. You can also collaborate with colleagues who work with short timelines without compromising on the quality of your work.

In addition, we imagine that you:

  • have a degree in mechanical engineering/technical assistant, or a similar education that enables you to become an expert within a technical area such as trucks
  • preferably have experience from a similar position
  • may have experience from the bodybuilder industry within trucks
  • are a proficient user of Microsoft Office and can quickly learn new systems
  • are a strong communicator who can adapt your technical communication to the audience—whether the recipient is authorities, our workshops, salespeople, or someone else
  • you can communicate fluently in English both in speaking and writing, as you will be communicating with factory personnel around the world
  • proficiency in Danish/Swedish /Norwegian is an advantage
  • have strong communication skills, as a very large part of what we “produce” in our department is communication
  • you hold a valid work permit for EU/Denmark

It is an advantage if you have experience with type approvals and handling authorities, as well as knowledge of the automotive bodybuilding and/or truck industry, but it is not a requirement. We are ready to invest in you and train you to meet our requirements.

We offer:

  • A versatile position with development opportunities and learning in practice
  • Freedom with responsibility in an informal and professional working environment
  • A broad network across the organisation—both internally in Denmark and throughout the Scania Group
  • Salary based on qualifications, pension scheme and health insurance

Interested? If you would like to know more about the position, you are welcome to contact Product Manager Ole Christian Jørgensen at +45 25518024. You can apply for the position until 30/04/2026, but please note that we review applications on an ongoing basis. Applications must be submitted via our recruitment system by selecting the link in this job ad.

We look forward to hearing from you.
