Job Description

This is a 6 – month contract with our client in the fintech industry

We are seeking a strategic and commercial Manager: AI Product Owner (Platform) to treat our AI ecosystem not just as a collection of tools, but as an enterprise-grade product.

Key Performance Areas

  • Platform Vision & Strategy: Define and advocate for the AI platform as a shared Group asset, balancing high-impact innovation with cost efficiency and strict regulatory compliance.
  • Roadmap & Backlog Mastery: Own and ruthlessly prioritize an outcome-driven platform backlog based on clear business value, risk reduction, and operational capacity.
  • Demand & Stakeholder Management:
    Translate diverse business and OpCo demands into unified, scalable platform features rather than bespoke, one-off solutions.
  • SLAs, KPIs & Adoption: Define and own key platform metrics (availability, consumption, performance) while working alongside SRE and Platform Engineering to drive widespread adoption.
  • Value Realization: Partner with finance and business teams to track the exact ROI delivered by the platform, identifying underutilization and driving commercial discipline.
  • Governance & Scaling: Navigate the platform's full lifecycle from pilot to scaled, industrialised operations while aligning with modern security, risk, and architectural standards.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business, Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

Experience & Competencies:

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in Product Management or Platform Ownership roles.
  • Proven track record of managing foundational technology platforms, infrastructure, or developer-facing products (rather than just end-user applications).
  • Familiarity with cloud/digital platform economics, consumption models, and managing SLAs/SLOs.
  • Highly Advantageous: Experience within Fintech, Financial Services, Telecommunications, or heavily regulated industries.
  • Preferred: Practical exposure to AI, ML lifecycle frameworks, or modern data platforms.

Core Skills:

  • Superb stakeholder management with the ability to articulate technical roadmaps to executives and business value to engineering teams.
  • A pragmatic, value-oriented mindset that remains calm and decisive under competing, high-pressure demands.
