The Product Engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, improvement, and lifecycle support of commercial and industrial door systems, including rolling steel doors, fire-rated doors, counter doors, security grilles, and/or high-performance doors.
The Product Engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, improvement, and lifecycle support of commercial and industrial door systems, including rolling steel doors, fire-rated doors, counter doors, security grilles, and/or high-performance doors. This role executes New Product Development (NPD), Current Product Improvement (CPI), and Product Change Request (PCR) activities while providing technical support across the organization. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product Management, Sales, and Customer Support, the Product Engineer develops innovative, reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective products that meet customer, regulatory, safety, and business requirements.
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time at their sole and complete discretion.
A minimum of 2-5 years of mechanical engineering experience required. Experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or product development.
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME or equivalent) is required.
Primarily office-based in a professional, climate-controlled environment using computer-based engineering systems. Regular interaction with engineering laboratories, manufacturing facilities, and warehouse operations. Work periodically in non-climate-controlled manufacturing or warehouse environments and wear required PPE. Occasional domestic travel up to 10%.
Occasionally lift and carry up to 40 pounds, climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and operate approved scissor lifts. Perform hands-on assembly, testing, measurement, and troubleshooting activities.
