We’re seeking a Product Engineer to join our NYC-based team (we are an in-person company) to build the glue between OP-1 and our customers’ systems. You are a full-stack engineer who will build all of the systems around the robot: the customer UX for working with Ultra, internal ops and support tooling, or whatever the next highest priority is. You'll own features end-to-end (and might touch robot code in the process).
Who You Are
You have 5+ years of professional software development experience
You consider yourself a software generalist and have worked on a variety of software systems, with a soft spot for Python/TypeScript-based web stacks.
You turn high-level, open-ended problem statements into quality technical solutions (and can handle all of the in-between steps)
You’re dangerous with LLMs because you know when they're wrong
You know how to deploy high-quality production code as a part of a software team and are comfortable moving uncomfortably fast
What You’ll Do
Design and build customer-facing product for running and managing robots in their warehouses, and iterate from how they’re actually used on the warehouse floor
Build the internal tools for ops, support, and deployment so we can scale without heroics
Pinch-hit across the stack as needed (Android VR dev, on the robot, future mobile app)
Bonus Points
You're a former startup founder
You’ve built self-improving, agentic systems in the past
You have a strong product sense and know all about UX in HIL systems
About Ultra
