The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the local production site by providing specific technical information related to manufactured products, such as, but not limited to: drawing interpretation, technical specs; risk assessment (legal, safety, economic), support and develop testing setup and testing plans, problem solving and root cause analysis, validation and, if required, lead the implementation of product engineering changes, new products and components.

What You Will Do

  • Provide consultation to operations on customer and technical specs related to the products.
  • related to product design causes.
  • Maintain constant interaction with the local PDE team /Tech. center regarding top product issues until closure.
  • Field and warrant support: Performing analysis on warranty / customer returns and communicating feedback to the local PDE Team or Tech Center.
  • To generate and report on a regular basis (normally monthly) local product engineering indicators measuring:
  • Root cause analysis
  • Problem Solving open days.
  • Support engineering changes feasibility analysis and impact to production.
  • Share information with other sites.
  • Support design meetings and workshops. Provide production site feedback during product development phases. (site input such as “production like” and design for manufacturing)
  • Provide basic and advanced product training to all employees at local site.
  • Lead core engineering changes at local production site. Work together with PDE and PjM for an adequate implementation strategy.
  • Maintain an updated list of specific product requirements by technology / customer.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field
  • Minitab or similar desired
  • Problem solving skills, such as DOE, 8D, red X, etc.
  • Ability to perform deep and detailed Analysis of mechanical & electric components
  • Strong technical skills and technical specifications understanding (Technical and test requirements).
  • CAD and Drawings knowledge, including SPC and GD&T
  • Proven ability to provide clear technical reports (written) for customers & suppliers

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Connector or automotive product design experience
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, stamping, plating, and assembly
  • Familiarity with automotive product development and validation requirements.
  • GD&T and Stackup fundamentals
  • DFMEA and basic design risk assessment
