Automation and Controls Product Engineer (Drives & Motors)

Our client is seeking an Automation Controls Product Engineer to take ownership of a growing product line and become the technical expert behind innovative automation solutions used by manufacturers across North America.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for drives, motors, gearmotors, and soft starters
• Evaluate, test, and validate new automation products and technologies
• Develop sample applications and demonstration projects
• Support new product introductions, technical documentation, training, and product lifecycle management
• Partner with suppliers to assess product offerings, technology roadmaps, and support capabilities
• Drive quality improvements and cost-reduction initiatives
• Provide advanced technical support to internal teams and customers
• Collaborate across engineering, product management, marketing, and supplier organizations

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
• 7+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, system integration, product support, or product development
• Strong experience with AC/DC drives, motors, gearmotors, or motion control technologies
• Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, servos, encoders, and industrial communication protocols
• Experience evaluating, troubleshooting, testing, and applying automation products
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with UL, CSA, CE, RoHS, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks is a plus
