We're representing a Series B AI startup building software that automates accounting workflows using machine learning and large language models. Their platform acts as an AI layer across accounting systems, enhancing efficiency in tasks like bookkeeping, document processing, audit preparation, and tax workflows. As they rapidly expand their engineering team, they are focused on developing innovative AI products that transform financial operations.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and ship full-stack features that enhance accounting automation in real production environments.
- Collaborate with domain experts to translate complex user needs into effective technical solutions.
- Leverage AI and LLM tooling to accelerate development velocity and improve product capabilities.
- Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks and performance issues quickly and effectively.
- Maintain a product-focused mindset, understanding not just how to build, but what to build and why.
- Communicate technical decisions clearly to both engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Take ownership of projects from design through to production, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Ideal Candidate Background
- 5–10 years of experience in software engineering with strong technical fundamentals and a proven track record of shipping in production-grade environments.
- Full-stack mindset with genuine product intuition and the ability to work across the stack.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools in day-to-day development workflows.
- Strong systems thinking and architecture skills, capable of reasoning about complex, interconnected components.
- High execution speed with a bias toward action and the ability to deliver results under tight timelines.
Preferred
- Experience in a startup environment, particularly at Series A, B, or C stages.
- Background in high-growth companies where adaptability and pace were critical.
- Hands-on experience building or integrating AI or LLM-powered products.
