YOUR IMPACT

Based at our Technical Centre of Excellence in Tullamarine, VIC, you'll lead liquid development projects that turn brand ambition into consumer‑preferred products with a clear sensory and commercial advantage. Your work brings new products to market and improves existing ones by shaping formulations that meet quality, regulatory and commercial expectations. You'll partner closely with Marketing and Supply Chain to move ideas through development and into production, solving formulation issues that protect quality, cost and continuity. 
Please note: this role is a 12mth Fixed-Term Contract opportunity to support a number of exciting projects!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead liquid development for new products and optimise existing formulations to meet brand, quality and cost requirements.
  • Turn formulations into production‑ready recipes, designed for site capability, safety and efficiency.
  • Progress projects through Asahi’s Stage & Gate process, keeping timelines, cost and technical requirements on track.
  • Resolve formulation‑related production and BAU issues, protecting product quality and continuity.
  • Work with flavour houses and ingredient suppliers to trial, validate and implement new ingredients and technologies.

ABOUT YOU

  • Proven experience in liquid formulation within an FMCG environment, delivering products that balance consumer expectations, quality standards and cost targets.
  • Strong technical capability in laboratory‑based product development, including flavour exploration, flavour matching and validation of product performance over shelf life.
  • Sound understanding of ingredient functionality and formulation compliance, with the ability to translate regulatory and quality requirements into fit‑for‑purpose recipes.
  • Commercially aware and detail‑driven, able to interpret consumer insights, market trends and brand direction into clear, compliant product taste profiles.
  • Collaborative working style, partnering effectively with brand, manufacturing, procurement, regulatory and external suppliers to progress products from concept through to production.
