A Product Development Specialist role which is primarily analytical and delivery‑focused, applying actuarial insight, structured research and analysis to support product design decisions, pricing considerations and strategic positioning within the Group Retirement Solutions portfolio.

The role operates with defined objectives and governance, contributing technical input and insight to broader product initiatives under the direction of senior product leadership.

Key Result Areas:

Integrated Product Rollout and Development

• Support the end‑to‑end rollout of new and enhanced product combinations within approved product and pricing frameworks.

• Assist in defining product structures, benefit features and member journeys across integrated solutions.

• Prepare and maintain product documentation, specifications and implementation inputs in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

• Contribute to testing, refinement and post‑implementation reviews of new product initiatives.

Actuarial and Strategic Analysis

• Perform actuarial and financial analysis to support pricing sustainability, value assessment and risk evaluationof product solutions.

• Build and maintain analytical models to monitor product performance and key value drivers.

• Conduct scenario and impact analysis relating to regulatory, legislative and market developments affecting Group Retirement products.

Competitor and International Research

• Conduct structured research across retirement, investment, risk and wellness solutions.

• Analyse emerging trends and product design innovations to identify implications for Group Retirement Solutions.

• Translate research findings into concise, evidence‑based insights to inform product strategy discussions.

Insights, MI and Decision Support

• Develop insight packs, dashboards and analytical summaries to support product governance and strategic forums

• Provide analytical input into management and governance papers, under guidance from senior stakeholders.

• Support feedback loops between product performance, pricing outcomes and member behaviour.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Enablement

• Collaborate with Product, Distribution, Investments, Operations and IT to support coordinated product delivery.

• Provide technical input in response to structured stakeholder queries and requests.

• Contribute as a subject‑matter participant in delivery and project teams.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience required:

• Relevant Bachelors or Postgraduate qualification

• Proven experience in retirement funds, investments or long-term insurance.

• Strong analytical capability including experience in building and interpreting financial models

• Ability to synthesise complex data, research and analysis into clear, decision‑useful insights.

• Solid commercial awareness with an appreciation of product profitability, competitiveness and sustainability.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience contributing to professional and executive‑level material.
