ROLE SNAPSHOT —

• Pay: $115,000 - $145,000 annually
• Location/Schedule: Remote; Full-Time.
• Employment classification: Exempt.
• Department: Product Development.
• Reports to: Director of U.S. Operations
• Purpose: Lead the Product Development team and guide new products from initial concept through launch across Dietary Supplement, Sports Nutrition, Food, Cosmetic, and Pet lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES —

• Lead and develop Product Development Specialists through hiring, onboarding, goal-setting, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Set priorities and allocate team resources across simultaneous projects, maintaining accountability for pipeline quality, timeliness, and market competitiveness.
• Own the development lifecycle, including ideation, research, ingredient sourcing, formulation, labeling, and product education; use scientific literature to inform formulation decisions.
• Translate industry trends and competitive analysis into original product concepts, executive presentations, and proposed product pricing.
• Lead manufacturer and supplier relationships, resolve formulation challenges, and partner with Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Quality to identify, evaluate, qualify, and onboard manufacturing partners, including facility audits.
• Coordinate launches across departments, oversee technical documentation, and review labeling and marketing materials for accuracy and alignment with requirements.
• Establish and improve department standard operating procedures and workflows; oversee software transitions, project management systems, databases, and accurate development records.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• Five or more years of product development experience, including prior team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a team and hold direct reports accountable.
• Thorough understanding of the product development lifecycle.
• Strong project management skills, including managing shifting priorities, identifying roadblocks, and executing solutions.
• Ability to initiate and lead group collaboration.
• Experience with project management software and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong networking and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Self-motivation, persistence, enthusiasm, and adaptability.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Product Development or a related field.
• Direct people-management experience.
• Experience with Mercola or comparable product development environments.

This role combines people leadership with ownership of a complex product pipeline. You’ll balance competing launch timelines, coach your team through technical decisions, and resolve challenges involving ingredients, documentation, manufacturers, and cross-department coordination.

Work includes prolonged computer use and time in labs, manufacturing areas, or testing facilities. Activities may involve handling samples and prototypes, standing and walking, and occasionally lifting or carrying materials up to 30 pounds. Production environments may involve varying temperatures, odors, and noise, with personal protective equipment needed in some settings. Occasional travel supports supplier visits, trade shows, or external testing.

The pay range for this position is $115,000 - $145,000 annually. Please note that the quoted pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
