Job Description

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The PDE PCS IIoT Senior Manager is responsible for leading the validation, industrialization, and high-volume manufacturing (HVM) enablement of Industrial IoT solutions across the enterprise. This role ensures that IIoT solutions developed through early pathfinding and solution development phases are scalable, robust, compliant, and standardized for global deployment.

The position plays a critical governance role across the IIoT lifecycle—driving design-for-scale alignment, enforcing validation rigor, and enabling consistent fanout across sites. The role partners closely with APTD IIoT, site engineering teams, and central functions to deliver production-grade IIoT capabilities that achieve yield, productivity, and operational performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. IIoT Validation and Industrialization Leadership

  • Own end-to-end IIoT solution validation from pilot through industrial deployment.
  • Ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and meet defined performance targets (e.g., DOC, latency, reliability).
  • Establish and enforce validation frameworks including:
    • Data quality and integrity checks
    • Algorithm robustness and drift validation
    • False positive/false negative performance thresholds
  • Drive cybersecurity, compliance, and enterprise governance sign-off prior to deployment.

2. HVM Fanout and Standardization

  • Lead SOAK fanout governance and ensure controlled deployment across production environments.
  • Define and drive standardization strategy including:
    • Configuration and deployment packages
    • Site readiness criteria and support models
    • Global consistency across tools and factories
  • Ensure no deployment proceeds without validated solution ownership and readiness criteria met.

3. Cross-Functional IIoT Collaboration & Governance

  • Act as co-owner from early phases to ensure design-for-scale and design-for-fanout
  • Provide early challenge and alignment on:
    • Use case value justification
    • Architecture scalability
    • Data strategy and governance
  • Partner with APTD IIoT through:
    • Pathfinding and development phases (design input)
    • Joint ownership during solution development and initial validation
  • Collaborate with SMAI, Site PEE, KEG, and operations teams for deployment and sustainment.

4. Architecture, Data, and Analytics Validation

  • Validate end-to-end IIoT system architecture including edge, network, and data pipelines.
  • Ensure enterprise alignment in:
    • Data governance, structure, and accessibility
    • Data latency and throughput performance
  • Validate analytical models for:
    • Stability and robustness
    • Drift detection and recalibration strategies
  • Ensure solutions are production-ready beyond FOAK environments.

5. Reliability, Sustainability, and Lifecycle Ownership

  • Establish requirements for:
    • Monitoring frameworks
    • Long-term sustainment models
    • Site-level operational readiness
  • Ensure solutions transition from pilot success to sustained HVM performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement based on field performance and site feedback.

6. Documentation and Deployment Excellence

  • Ensure complete and production-grade documentation including:
    • Design intent and system architecture
    • Deployment playbooks and configuration guides
    • DOC2-level validation and certification artifacts
  • Standardize best practices for repeatable and scalable deployment.

Decision Ownership and Governance Scope

  • Own final decision authority for validation-to-fanout transitions
  • Enforce gate criteria including:
    • Performance and reliability targets achievement
    • Cybersecurity and compliance clearance
    • Completion of production-level documentation
  • Drive governance to ensure consistent global deployment outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Strong background in IIoT systems, process control, and semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience in:
    • Data pipelines, edge computing, and industrial architectures
    • Analytics, algorithm validation, and model performance monitoring
    • Factory automation and production system integration

Leadership & Execution

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional, multi-site programs.
  • Strong capability in driving industrialization and scaling of solutions from pilot to production.
  • Experience establishing governance models, standards, and deployment frameworks.

Strategic & Collaboration Skills

  • Ability to balance innovation (from development teams) with production requirements (scalability, robustness).
  • Strong stakeholder management across engineering, IT, and operations organizations.
  • Ability to challenge solutions constructively while driving alignment and outcomes.

Key Success Metrics

  • Successful transition of IIoT solutions from FOAK to HVM deployment.
  • Global standardization and adoption rate across sites.
  • Achievement of performance targets (yield, productivity, reliability).
  • Reduction in variation across sites through standardized deployment.
  • Sustainability and stability of deployed solutions.

Role Positioning (Summary)

  • APTD IIoT drives innovation, pathfinding, and solution development
  • PDE PCS IIoT Senior Manager drives validation rigor, scalability, and enterprise deployment outcomes
