Job Description

SCOR Life & Health APAC is looking for contender(s) who aspires to have an inspiring, challenging and innovating start to their career!

We are looking for a Product Development Actuary, APAC. Based in Hong Kong, this individual will support the development and execution of regional partnership, product innovation and insurance solutions initiatives across SCOR Life and Health APAC. The role will work closely with 8 local markets, APAC senior management and relevant global / regional stakeholders to deliver high-quality strategic analysis, market intelligence, product ideas, treaty support and senior management deliverables.

The candidate should be prepared to work in a fast-paced, demanding and execution-focused team environment, and will be expected to gain broad exposure to product development, treaty management, market intelligence, actuarial analysis, regional client management, senior management reporting and client-facing branding activities.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Drive the rollout of regional product development initiatives and work with local market managers to identify strategic fit and opportunities. Produce APAC market intelligence by gathering local market input, identifying market and product trends, and drawing regional insights.
  • Support APAC senior management deliverables, including strategy delivery templates, executive visit presentations, and local deal materials, capable of working directly with N+2.
  • Lead the development and delivery of high-impact business cases for new initiatives which will be presented to senior executives at SCOR.
  • Assist local markets with product design, insurance solutions and experience analysis for clients and senior management.
  • Support regional partnership management, including global / regional treaty maintenance, treaty review and renewal negotiation preparation with key regional clients.
  • Help organize regional branding and client-facing activities, and related internal / external communication materials.
  • Provide training to junior member on the team.

Required Experience:

  • Qualified actuary (or close to qualification) with at least 7 years of experience in life and health insurance / reinsurance business
  • BBA with a major in either Actuarial, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, etc.
  • Solid understanding of L&H products, reinsurance structures, market trends and actuarial / risk considerations
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders and delivering executive presentations, business cases, and market insight reports
  • Strong written communication capability, with proven ability to convert complex actuarial, financial and market information into clear, concise and persuasive materials
  • Exposure to valuation, IFRS17, RBC / solvency frameworks or financial reporting is a plus
  • Experience supporting treaty renewals, regional/global client relationships, negotiation preparation or cross-market initiatives is a plus

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical capability and the ability to connect market observations, product trends, financial implications and business opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with local market teams, APAC senior management and regional / global stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in PowerPoint and executive-level presentation materials.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to synthesize complex information into clear messages and actionable recommendations.
  • Team player with a collaborative working style and willingness to support both strategic initiatives and hands-on execution.
  • Motivated, proactive, curious and comfortable working in a fast-paced regional environment.
