This is the core belief that has guided Burberry since it was founded in 1856 and is central to how we operate as a company today.

We aim to provide an environment for creative minds from different backgrounds to thrive, bringing a wide range of skills and experiences to everything we do. As a purposeful, values-driven brand, we are committed to being a force for good in the world as well, creating the next generation of sustainable luxury for customers, driving industry change and championing our communities.

JOB PURPOSE

We are hiring a Product Developer to play a central role in shaping Burberry’s Knitwear collections from concept through to production. Based in London, this role sits within our Product Development function and partners closely with Design, Product Engineering and our global vendor network. At Burberry, you will translate creative vision into beautifully crafted product, balancing innovation, quality and commercial integrity at every stage of development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner closely with Design as a technical collaborator, attending fittings and guiding feasibility to bring the creative vision to life in Knitwear.
  • Lead end‑to‑end development of knitwear styles, ensuring samples and prototypes are delivered on time, to quality standards and within cost targets.
  • Own and manage the critical path from concept to pre‑production, proactively identifying risks and driving solutions to maintain delivery timelines.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with vendors across Europe and Asia, aligning capability, cost and quality while protecting design intent.
  • Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of PLM data, communicating changes clearly to cross‑functional partners to avoid disruption.
  • Support and coach Product Development Assistants, sharing knowledge and encouraging continuous learning across categories.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Strong technical expertise in knitwear product development, with a deep understanding of construction, materials and fit.
  • Confident working in partnership with Designers, translating creative ideas into commercially viable, high‑quality product.
  • Commercially aware, with the ability to balance creativity, cost and margin throughout the development process.
  • Experienced in managing complex critical paths and vendor relationships across international supply bases.
  • Clear, inclusive communicator who collaborates effectively across functions and cultures.
  • Organised, adaptable and proactive, with a problem‑solving mindset and attention to detail.

About Burberry

Born from innovation, Burberry is a global luxury brand with a rich British heritage.

Founded in 1856, our brand is underpinned by our founder’s passion for the outdoors. Thomas Burberry invented the innovative rain-ready fabric gabardine to protect explorers from the elements. In doing so, he created the foundation for the iconic Burberry trench coat, which remains core to the business even today.

Guided by our history of exploration and our shared belief that ‘creativity opens spaces’, our purpose is to unlock the power of imagination to push boundaries and open new possibilities for our people, our customers and our communities.

As a values-driven brand, we are committed to creating the next generation of sustainable luxury and believe that diversity, equity and inclusion are essential to fulfilling our purpose. Fostering an inclusive culture where differences are valued and embraced enables us to be more creative, engaged and make a more meaningful contribution to the world around us.
