Product Developer, Innovation

Responsibilities

• Lead projects focused on exploring new products, capabilities, materials, and technologies
• Manage projects and external engagements, balancing speed, creativity, and thoroughness
• Guide the collection and interpretation of customer insights to understand applications, needs, and unmet opportunities
• Develop early-stage product prototypes to evaluate usability, functionality, and production feasibility
• Identify and collaborate with external partners, as appropriate, to leverage specialized processes, technologies, and manufacturing capabilities
• Develop a broad understanding of potential applications to identify unmet customer needs and opportunities for product innovation
• Establish initial product performance requirements, quality specifications, and early-stage designs for transition to Engineering and further development
• Support cross-functional teams, including Vertical/Platform Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing
• Design and build physical prototypes, drawings, product descriptions, and renderings to communicate and validate concepts
• Distill insights and learnings to collaborate across the organization in the evaluation and refinement of early concepts
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Degree in business, engineering, industrial design, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered
• Experience in product development or research and development (R&D), preferably with direct customer engagement to identify and understand unmet needs.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and active listening skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
• Some domestic travel is required
