Job Description

Product Cyber Security Engineer

Application Deadline: 14 October 2026

Department: Software

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Oxford

Reporting To: Principal DevOps Engineer

Description

Want to be part of a team transforming healthcare?

We are seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic Product Cyber Security Engineer to drive the security of our products and production services, and ensure compliance with our regulatory obligations for product cybersecurity.

Working within the DevOps team, you will work effectively with diverse individuals across the organisation to make security a core component of our operations. You will also act as a trusted subject matter expert advising other areas of the business. Your contributions will help improve processes and drive security standards across the organisation.

We are looking for a collaborative team player who excels at seeing the big picture, understanding diverse perspectives, and embracing new challenges. You will combine your expert knowledge in the field of cybersecurity with systems thinking and a pragmatic approach.

The Company

Medical imaging helps patients by enabling early and accurate diagnosis. However, 2D X-rays can be inconclusive as they give a fundamentally limited view of our 3D bodies. 3D images are possible with CT scanners but these are much more expensive, give a higher dose of radiation and moving a critically ill patient to a scanner can be labour-intensive and risky.

At Adaptix we are helping make 3D imaging more accessible to the people who need it by producing mobile flat-panel X-ray systems that can be brought to patients - giving low-cost, low-dose imaging.

Candidate Profile

As our ideal candidate, you will have a minimum qualification of a degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, along with demonstrable practical experience in cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead cybersecurity lifecycle activities for our 3D X-Ray imaging products and supporting services, in accordance with applicable standards, including vulnerability monitoring, triage and risk management.
  • Maintain up-to-date product security documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement in the secure design and development of our products across different verticals including medical and veterinary imaging, and non-destructive testing
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce friction and maintain compliance
  • As part of the DevOps team, contribute to the selection and integration of appropriate security tools and workflows to embed security at the heart of the development process
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of relevant cyber threats, trends and publicly disclosed vulnerabilities, acting as a subject matter expert
  • Advise and collaborate with stakeholders across the business on maintaining secure business systems
  • Contribute to production support and incident response activities as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential skills and experience:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable professional experience in cybersecurity
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills together with the judgement to apply knowledge effectively in context
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively in a team in a fast paced environment
  • Proven ability to advocate for cybersecurity in an organisation or team

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Hold a recognised cybersecurity qualification
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • An awareness of cybersecurity practice in healthcare
  • Proficiency in a programming language
  • Familiarity with Azure Cloud, Windows and embedded systems
