As a Junior Associate Product Controller, you will play a key role in protecting the integrity of our books and records while supporting business growth. You will collaborate across regions and functions, contribute to high-impact initiatives, and help evolve the operating model in a fast-paced environment. As a Junior Associate Product Controller in the Global Investment Banking Product Control team, you will support the accuracy and integrity of financial records through strong controls and disciplined close processes. You will partner with stakeholders across Product Control, Financial Control, Operations, Technology, and regional teams to maintain a robust control environment and deliver reliable financial results. You will help ensure regulatory and policy compliance, identify control risks, and drive process improvements that enhance efficiency and adaptability.

Job responsibilities

  • Build strong partnerships with other functions (Deal Services, Business Management, Middle Office, Technology, Financial Control etc.) and Product Control peers in other regions, providing effective support and control oversight to help maintain a strong control environment.
  • Ensure appropriate booking & accounting treatment of fees, expenses, taxes, income attributions in accordance with firm/regional regulatory policies e.g. rules for Cross border deals, Tax, write offs, expense recoveries, foreign exchange (FX) trade outs, FX exposure, etc.
  • Support the month-end close process in partnership with the Financial Control team (based in Delaware and Mumbai) through review of the EMEA GIB balance sheet and P&L including associated investigation and resolution of variances and related month end issues.
  • Identify nuances / bottlenecks on day-to-day execution of billing, nostro management, daily revenue / risk reporting and related processes
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including analyzing income statements and balance sheets.
  • Challenge existing control operating model and identify control issues/risks resulting in increased efficiency and implementation of effective control processes.
  • Participate in key project initiatives of Controllers group and successful implementation.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with minimum 3 years of experience including strong accounting and double entry skills.

  • Proven ability to identify and resolve control and risk management issues impacting financial results.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a control-focused mindset, the ability to challenge the status quo and generate solutions to problems.
  • Confident communicator with effective verbal, written, and listening skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.

  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders at various levels.

  • Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and committed to delivering results.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with banking products and financial services industry awareness.

  • Experience with general ledger, client billing or P&L aggregator systems.

  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements, including Volcker Reporting.

  • Track record of driving process improvements and control enhancements.
