Job Description

You enjoy shaping the future of product innovation as a core leader, driving value for customers, guiding successful launches, and exceeding expectations. Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality products that resonate with clients.

As a Product Control Strategy Vice President in Business Banking, you will help build and scale a Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM) and technology-enabled controls capability across Business Banking products, sitting at the intersection of Product, Technology, and Control Management. This leader will modernize the current controls book of work by shifting from manual risk detection toward in-system preventative/detective controls, code/configuration reviews, and automated production health checks that reduce reliance on regression testing and improve speed-to-signal. This role will partner closely with Product Owners, Technology, and second line stakeholders to drive measurable improvements in control effectiveness, operational resilience, and governance outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Technology Controls / Continuous Monitoring Framework: Design and implement a repeatable control framework: control objectives, monitoring patterns, alerting thresholds, exception workflows, evidence standards, and governance in partnership with the Product Owners and Control Managers.
  • Develop near real-time visibility into control performance and risk trends through automated monitoring routines and exception management processes.
  • Production Health Checks: Stand up production health check monitoring controls to reduce/replace regression testing, including automated validation of critical business rules and key integrations.
  • Control Automation: Identify and deliver opportunities to automate control testing and strengthen detection through data, system telemetry, and workflow-driven routines.
  • Control Strategy for New Product Launches: Partner with Product and Technology to embed controls-by-design into delivery: requirements, design reviews, control mapping, test strategy, and production readiness.
  • AI-enabled productivity (enterprise-authorized only): Use enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate synthesis of control evidence and draft executive-ready reporting, with rigorous human validation and data-handling discipline.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 8+ years of experience (or equivalent expertise) in technology risk & controls, operational risk, product controls, engineering enablement, or adjacent disciplines with demonstrated delivery ownership.
  • The ideal candidate brings experience spanning technology delivery and controls/risk, with strong influencing skills across Product and Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or overseeing Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM) capabilities, automated control testing, or continuous auditing approaches leveraging applications such as Business Process Validation & Reporting (BPVR)
  • Strong ability to partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Owners, Engineers, Business Control Managers) and drive delivery in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to translate monitoring outputs into clear narratives, prioritization, and actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to review and validate AI-assisted summaries and recommendations before use; escalate when uncertain and ensure outputs align to auditability and regulatory expectations

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience building monitoring/controls using analytics and automation tooling (e.g., Alteryx, SQL, Python) and/or dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience establishing KRIs/control performance metrics and executive reporting cadences.
  • Familiarity with Business Banking product domains (e.g., deposits, cash management/money movement) and production release practices.
  • Industry certifications such as CISM, CRISC, CISSP (or similar) are a plus.
