Product Content & Photography Coordinator
Location: JD Group HQ (Bury, Greater Manchester)
Department: JD Outdoor
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Product Content & Photography Coordinator to join our eCommerce team. This role sits at the heart of how our products are presented online, owning the end-to-end coordination of product imagery — from brand-supplied assets and third-party studio shoots through to campaign photography. You'll play a key role in ensuring our outdoor sporting goods range is presented to the highest visual standard across our website and digital channels.
What you will be responsible for:
Product Image Management
• Own the intake, organisation, and management of all product imagery including brand-supplied samples, brand-provided images, and assets produced by third-party photography studios.
• Audit product listings regularly to identify missing, outdated, or non-compliant imagery and action accordingly.
• Ensure all product images meet website technical specifications (file format, resolution, dimensions, background standards) before upload.
• Liaise with the eCommerce and web teams to coordinate timely image uploads aligned to product launch schedules.
Photography Studio Coordination
• Serve as the key point of contact between the Digital team and the third-party photography studio, ensuring clear and timely communication throughout the product photography process.
• Relay shoot requirements, shot lists, and image specifications from the Digital team to the studio, ensuring briefs are accurate and understood.
• Coordinate the dispatch, tracking, and return of product samples to and from the studio, maintaining accurate records at all times.
• Review and quality-check images delivered by the studio against agreed briefs, feeding back to the studio on behalf of the Digital team where amendments or reshoots are needed.
• Monitor studio delivery schedules and flag any risks to timelines, keeping internal stakeholders informed and aligned.
Campaign Shoot Support
• Provide seasonal support to the Brand and Creative team for campaign shoots, primarily focused on sample coordination and logistics.
• Liaise with the Digital Trading team ahead of each campaign shoot to capture and consolidate the Digital team's requirements, ensuring these are clearly communicated to the Brand and Creative team.
• Assist with the selection, preparation, and dispatch of product samples required for each seasonal campaign, ensuring Digital trading priorities are reflected in the sample selection.
• Help ensure samples are on-hand, in the correct condition, and accounted for throughout the shoot process.
• Support the return and reconciliation of campaign samples post-shoot.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Work closely with the Buying, Merchandising, and Brand teams to forecast upcoming photography requirements and plan studio capacity.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Enrichment team to ensure photography and imagery are aligned with product copy, creating a consistent and cohesive presentation across all digital product pages.
• Partner with the eCommerce trading team to prioritise imagery based on commercial importance and seasonal launches.
• Build strong working relationships with brand partners to efficiently obtain and manage third-party supplied imagery.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience you will require:
• 2–4 years of experience in a product content, eCommerce, photography coordination, or digital asset management role — ideally within retail or an outdoor/sporting goods environment.
• Proven experience coordinating photography studio workflows, including briefing, sample management, and image QA.
• Strong understanding of image file formats, technical specifications, and web optimisation requirements.
• Experience working with digital asset management (DAM) platforms or similar content management systems.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills with confidence liaising with external studio partners and internal stakeholders.
• A genuine interest in outdoor sports and the products within the category is a plus.
Desirable
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop/Bridge) for basic image review and light editing.
• Experience supporting on-location or campaign shoots in an assistant or coordinator capacity.
• Knowledge of eCommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Magento) and how imagery is managed within them.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Amplience, particularly in relation to digital asset management and content publishing workflows.
