What you'll contribute to

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Consultant to join our Quality & Service division in a permanent full-time role.

The Quality and Service Division is responsible for delivering customer-focused initiatives across customer support, service operations, technical training, field quality monitoring, warranty support, product quality engineering, and technical expertise. Through these functions, the division plays a key role in enhancing customer satisfaction, driving continuous product quality improvements, fostering long-term customer loyalty, and strengthening the Toyota and Lexus brands.

The Product Consultant provides specialist technical expertise and product support across Toyota and Lexus vehicles, accessories, connected services, and emerging mobility technologies.

Working closely with the dealer network, suppliers, Toyota global affiliates, and internal stakeholders, this role supports the investigation and resolution of technical concerns, identifies emerging product quality issues, and contributes to continuous product improvement. Combining strong technical knowledge, analytical problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement, the position helps dealers deliver accurate and effective repairs, enhance customer satisfaction, strengthen customer retention, and support brand loyalty.

The role also supports Toyota Australia's regulatory compliance programs, including vehicle testing, monitoring and reporting activities.

This role is based in Altona North with flexible work arrangements available. Interstate and overseas travel will occasionally be required to support vehicle inspections, dealer activities and compliance programs.

How you'll make an impact

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing product support processes, field quality investigations, and technical issue resolution.
• Provide technical guidance for product campaigns and field actions, including repair recommendations, parts requirements, and dealer support.
• Support new vehicle launches and product updates through technical evaluations, field validation, and launch readiness activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, quality data, and compliance records while collaborating with dealers, suppliers, regional offices, and global stakeholders to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Support regulatory compliance activities, including In-Service Conformity, In-Use Performance Ratio monitoring, and Emission Warranty Information Reporting requirements.
• Coordinate vehicle sourcing, inspections, logistics, testing, and reporting activities to support compliance programs and identify potential risks.

Your attributes

• Automotive trade qualification or equivalent qualified technical experience.
• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
• Proven automotive industry experience, including vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and technical investigations.
• Experience within a dealership, regional office, vehicle manufacturer, or similar automotive environment is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated exposure to field quality investigations, warranty analysis, product support, or resolution of technical vehicle concerns.
• Knowledge of connected vehicle technologies, telematics, software diagnostics, new model introductions, vehicle certification, regulatory compliance, emissions programs, or in-service conformity testing will be highly regarded.
