Job Summary.

As Product Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for managing environmental compliance declarations, supplier material data, and customer enquiries, ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate reporting, and audit-ready documentation across global product portfolios.

Responsibilities:

  • Declaration & Reporting Management: Process and fulfil environmental compliance declarations for customer requests, covering RoHS, REACH (SVHC/Annex XVII), CA Prop 65, Conflict Minerals (CMRT), Extended Minerals (EMRT), PFAS, TSCA, and SCIP database filings.
  • Third-Party Portal Administration: Submit, update, and track regulatory compliance declarations across customer-preferred third-party platforms, including Assent Compliance, BOMcheck, GDX, and IMDS.
  • Supplier Engagement & Data Collection: Request, review, and validate Full Material Declarations (FMD) and safety data sheets from global suppliers; actively follow up to resolve non-responsive requests or declaration discrepancies.
  • Workflow & Smartsheet Tracking: Establish and maintain activity registers in Smartsheet to track request status, monitor project timelines, and deliver progress metrics in coordination with team leadership.
  • Customer Collaboration & Technical Support: Serve as a technical point of contact for customer compliance inquiries, questionnaires, and material data verification requests.
  • Compliance Documentation & Auditing: Maintain accurate, central archives of compliance certificates, test reports, and portal submissions to ensure audit readiness and full supply chain traceability.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on evolving global environmental regulations and chemical restrictions (e.g., EU RoHS exemptions, REACH SVHC candidate updates) to anticipate impacts on existing product portfolios.
  • Ad-Hoc Support: Perform additional compliance-related duties and operational tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • 3–6 years of direct experience in product environmental compliance and regulatory management.
  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with compliance portals (Assent, BOMcheck, GDX, IMDS), ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Smartsheet/MS Excel for data management.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and material specifications; strong attention to detail; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong collaborative mindset for cross-functional teamwork.
