Responsibilities

Responsible for assurance of quality of products and of the quality of processes used in the development of products by providing technical expertise in testing, test planning, and QA processes including defect monitoring and reporting.

Essential Functions

  • Create test plans to test software/firmware/hardware functionality and reliability.
  • Conduct tests of software/firmware/hardware at various stages throughout product development.
  • Create test reports, enter issues into defect tracking databases and verbally present defects to cross-functional teams.
  • Review and provide feedback regarding product requirements and specifications and develop plans for test coverage of design inputs.
  • Provide technical expertise, including implementation as appropriate, on operating systems, monitoring systems, continual improvement processes, specialized environments, and products.
  • Develop and release new test methodologies and processes.
  • Configure software/hardware/firmware as needed to complete assigned testing.
  • Perform special projects to support the Quality Assurance department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Detailed knowledge of quality control processes and procedures.
  • Advanced technical writing skills.
  • Knowledgeable in the development, usage and troubleshooting of electromechanical instrumentation.
  • Basic knowledge of programming concepts.
  • Independent, self-motivated, and able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-drive environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience and certification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in software or product quality assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience with software and product development lifecycle processes and quality assurance methodologies including defect reporting.
