Job Title: PLM and ERP Data and System Specialist

Department: 370-Data Management, Data Governance
Reports To: Director of Data Governance and Master Archivist

The PLM and ERP Data and System Specialist would assist in PLM governance and data quality across Nextracker’s enterprise systems. This role includes drafting and designing functions of part numbering architecture, defining scalable practices, and representing our PLM team as an SME within key initiatives involving Product Lifecycle Management. The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge with hands-on experience in PLM system configuration, data integrity management, and governance execution. This is a subject matter expert who will be responsible for leading the implementation, configuration, and support of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, ensuring seamless integration between them. Key duties include translating business needs into technical solutions, managing PLM processes like change orders and item structures, developing solution designs, and acting as a subject matter expert for cross-functional teams. The role requires a deep understanding of PLM and ERP functionalities, strong project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to drive successful outcomes.

This role would work closely with Program Managers, Engineering, Supply Chain, IT, and Data Governance to deliver structured, high-integrity solutions and ensure our PLM environment (e.g., Arena) remains scalable, synchronized, and audit-ready.

Key responsibilities

  • System implementation and design: Lead end-to-end PLM/ERP implementation projects, including process mapping, solution design, configuration, and deployment. Understand and develop requirements for Engineering, Product Management and Quality team, while navigating the overall needs to Make to Quote, Make to Sell and Make to Deliver.
  • Business requirements and analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate business requirements, translating them into scalable system solutions.
  • Integration and data management: Ensure seamless integration between PLM and ERP systems, managing data flows and defining product data governance processes. Be resourceful, able to export and import data with ease, understand the PLM architecture and ERP requirements to build a successful mapping and integration. Complete UAT and end to end resolution of data migration.
  • Subject matter expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for PLM and ERP, providing guidance on best practices and troubleshooting system issues.
  • Documentation and training: Develop and maintain key solution artifacts like functional design documents, process flow diagrams, and test scripts. Train end-users and provide ongoing support, create necessary documentation, crafting content, and visuals to display impact and roles.
  • Process improvement: Analyze and improve PLM-related business processes across engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments.
  • Project and stakeholder management: Manage project timelines, expectations, and communication, escalating issues as needed.

Tasks include and is not limited to:

  • Draft and maintain part numbering schema architecture and documentation—structure, logic, rules, and templates for vendor parts
  • Define attribute ownership and drive consistent application across part lifecycles, collect data and execute import or exports accordingly.
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity across Arena PLM and connected systems
  • Create dashboards and reports to identify discrepancies, gaps, and misaligned data.
  • Support integration efforts for newly acquired products, and creation of playbook and procedures for integration of data into our systems
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, IT, and Supply Chain teams to align data models and lifecycle management rules.
  • Map attribute data and values between systems, under the requirements and implement it

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in PLM and ERP integration, stand up and launch of new systems
  • Deep working knowledge of part numbering, product data structures, and change control workflows.
  • Hands-on administrative experience with Arena PLM or Oracle ERP
  • Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team-driven initiatives.
  • Strong skills in data reconciliation, reporting (Excel, Power BI, or Tableau), and stakeholder communication.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity, and able to distill complex PLM/data governance needs into clear technical approaches.
  • Expert/advanced knowledge of Arena/PLM architecture, best standards and understanding of how Engineering Data is used and its interaction with Supply Chain and Finance function
  • Expert/advanced knowledge of ERP architecture, such as Oracle and NetSuite
  • Experience with M&A activities and the impact to data and systems

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $100,000.00-$110,000.00. (Applicable to California)
