Job Description
Product & Application Manager
Leica Biosystems | Saudi Arabia
About Leica Biosystems
At Leica Biosystems, our mission is Advancing Cancer Diagnostics, Improving Lives. As a global leader in anatomical pathology solutions and part of Danaher, we support the pathology workflow from biopsy to diagnosis, helping laboratories and healthcare professionals deliver the answers patients need.
Join us to bring this mission to life across Saudi Arabia. You will combine your histopathology expertise with product and people leadership to help customers adopt solutions that strengthen laboratory performance and support cancer diagnostics.
Your Role
As Product & Application Manager, you will lead product strategy and application excellence for the Leica Biosystems histopathology portfolio in Saudi Arabia. You will manage and develop the Application Consultant team, drive product adoption and market penetration, and support product launches and expansion projects.
You will also own tender response strategy and execution, including NUPCO and major institutional tenders, and lead market feasibility assessments to identify opportunities for portfolio growth. Working closely with Sales, Service, Marketing, and Shared Services, you will turn customer needs and market insights into clear priorities and coordinated action.
A strong, hands-on histopathology background is essential. You should be confident engaging with pathologists and laboratory leaders, guiding application teams, and explaining the clinical, operational, and commercial value of our solutions.
Your Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Market Development
- Lead local product strategy and execution across the histopathology portfolio, aligned with regional and global priorities.
- Drive product adoption, market penetration, launches, and expansion projects through clear plans developed with commercial and application teams.
- Lead market feasibility assessments to evaluate customer demand, portfolio gaps, competitive positioning, and new business opportunities.
- Share market intelligence and customer feedback with regional and global teams to inform portfolio priorities and investment decisions.
Application Excellence & Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Application Consultant team, setting clear objectives and strengthening histopathology expertise, customer engagement, and technical capability.
- Ensure high-quality product demonstrations, evaluations, validation support, and customer training across the histopathology workflow.
- Act as the histopathology subject matter expert for complex opportunities, scientific discussions, and key customer engagements.
- Build trusted relationships with pathologists and laboratory stakeholders, and partner with Sales and Service to resolve application challenges and support successful product adoption.
Tender Strategy & Project Ownership
- Own the end-to-end tender response process for NUPCO and major institutional opportunities, from requirements review and response strategy through submission and follow-up.
- Coordinate Tendering, Finance, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Legal teams to deliver compliant, competitive submissions within agreed timelines.
- Lead the development of technical responses and customer value propositions, ensuring product specifications and supporting documentation are accurate and complete.
- Support post-tender clarifications and coordinate the handover of awarded projects to the relevant teams.
Marketing & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing to deliver local campaigns, workshops, scientific events, and product launch activities that address customer needs.
- Work closely with Sales, Service, and Shared Services to align priorities and provide a consistent customer experience.
- Contribute to initiatives across Danaher operating companies and the Diagnostics platform in Saudi Arabia.
DBS & Continuous Improvement
- Apply Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to strengthen standard work, improve processes, and maintain execution discipline.
- Use Daily Management and KPI tracking to monitor progress, identify gaps, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Histopathology, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. An advanced degree is an advantage.
- A strong, hands-on histopathology background covering tissue processing, staining, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and laboratory workflows.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in applications, product management, or commercial roles within diagnostics or life sciences.
- Proven experience leading and developing application or technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of the Saudi healthcare market, including Ministry of Health (MOH) and institutional customers, with experience in NUPCO tender processes.
- Experience supporting product launches, market development, and expansion projects.
- The ability to build credibility with pathologists and laboratory leaders and translate technical information into clear customer value.
- Strong communication, presentation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to deliver results in a matrix organisation.
- Fluency in English. Arabic is a strong advantage.
How You Work
You take ownership, follow through on commitments, and put customers at the centre of your decisions. You combine strategic thinking with practical execution, develop the people around you, and work across teams with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
