FOX Television Stations (FTS) owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations, including stations in 14 of the top 15 markets and duopolies in 11. Eighteen are FOX Network affiliates, and together the stations produce approximately 1,300 hours of local news every week. FOX LOCAL, the company's free ad-supported digital and streaming product, extends that news, weather and local content across connected TV & mobile devices. LiveNOW from FOX expands the FTS portfolio even further as the only national streaming services to be truly live 24/7, covering breaking news and events as they happen.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re hiring a Producer/Planner to join the team behind LiveNOW from FOX, FOX Television Stations’ national live-streaming news product. LiveNOW delivers relevant, engaging live news coverage from across the country and around the world, moving seamlessly between breaking stories and major events as they happen. Coverage is live and unfiltered, with limited commentary and no opinion.

Based in LiveNOW’s East Coast newsroom at FOX 35 Orlando and reporting to the Executive Producer, the Producer/Planner will research and plan coverage, book live guests, coordinate incoming content, and produce live coverage of breaking news and important events. We’re looking for a resourceful, dependable, highly organized journalist with strong news judgment who can anticipate coverage needs, build relationships, and thrive in a fast-moving newsroom.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Research, gather, curate, and produce timely original content, including breaking news and live coverage of major events, for digital, social, streaming, and broadcast platforms nationwide.
• Help execute the editorial plan and coordinate coverage with FOX owned-and-operated stations and other internal and external partners.
• Coordinate live video feeds, interviews, reporter hits, and other content for LiveNOW coverage.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts across FOX stations and partner organizations.
• Monitor live video feeds, newsgathering tools, social media, and other sources to identify developing stories, fresh content, and breaking information.
• Maintain and continuously update the editorial calendar to support short- and long-term coverage planning.
• Research upcoming events and anticipate coverage and resource needs.
• Pitch relevant and compelling story ideas.
• Stay current on breaking news, major stories, and events across the U.S. and internationally.
• Monitor real-time audience analytics and use insights to inform coverage decisions.
• Maintain high journalistic and editorial standards.
• Fill in for Digital Journalists as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• 3+ years of experience producing news content preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field preferred, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong news judgment and a thorough understanding of journalistic standards.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of digital news production, including live streaming and video publishing.
• Proficiency with web-based newsgathering, content creation, and digital analytics tools.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms and their use in newsgathering and news distribution.
• Ability to remain composed, accurate, and effective during breaking news and other high-pressure situations.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with newsroom teams, FOX stations, and internal and external partners.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
• On-camera hosting or reporting experience is a plus.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $70,000.00-77,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
