Job Description

TL;DR: We're expanding into more and more media domains and are looking for a Producer to own end-to-end production and serve as the planning and operations backbone for a growing slate of content.

What You'll Do

  • Strategy and Creative: Partner with the Head of Studios to develop the overall creative direction of Hallow's content slate - identifying new show concepts, formats, and opportunities to grow our audience across audio and video.
  • Lead Our Flagship Show: Own end-to-end production of a new Hallow flagship production — episode planning, guest coordination, on-location recording, post-production, and release. You'll be the person who makes sure every episode is excellent.
  • Build the Production System: Develop and maintain the run-of-show documents, editorial calendars, and production workflows that allow us to run multiple shows simultaneously without dropping the ball.
  • Support the Full Content Slate: Serve as supporting producer for emerging series and other content, expanding your role as the portfolio scales.
  • Coordinate Talent and Logistics: Work directly with hosts, guests, and the broader Hallow team to manage scheduling and recording logistics — including on-location shoots.
  • Own Quality and Distribution: Oversee audio and video quality, direct the editing workflow (and assist in editing when able), and direct publishing workflows across the Hallow app, YouTube, and other major content distribution platforms.

What You'll Love

  • Mission: This work is incredibly humbling. Every day we hear amazing stories and we get the pleasure of working on something that's impacting lives. One of our favorite user quotes: "I hate quoting an old, overused cliche, but I've been very lost. And I think for the first time in a while I may be found."
  • Ownership: You'll be the person who builds out our new production operations. This isn't a support role — you'll have direct ownership over some of the most mission-driven audio and video content being made in the Catholic world today.
  • Growth: From day 1, you'll be a part of the startup journey. Over the next year, we'll build out the company significantly, and we'll need your help building a world-class studio from the ground up.
  • Flexibility: HQ is in Chicago and we would love to have as many team members there as possible, but we are completely flexible on location within the United States. Note: This role requires regular on-location travel - expect up to 25% of your time to be on the road for recording and production.
  • Comp: We will pay competitive market rates in terms of equity, cash, & benefits.

What We're Looking For

  • Passion: First & foremost, we're looking for someone excited about our mission. It makes it a lot more fun :)
  • Multi-Show Versatility: You've managed multiple podcasts, news shows, or other productions at once–or at the very least are very comfortable in productions with lots of moving pieces–and have the systems and instincts to keep everything on track without things falling apart.
  • Talent-Friendly: You know how to work with hosts and guests — how to prep them, how to get the best out of a session, and how to handle the unexpected with calm and professionalism.
  • Catholic Media Familiarity: Familiarity with Catholic media, audiences, institutions and ministries — or a track record of quickly learning a new audience's culture and content landscape.
  • Experience: 3+ years of production experience, ideally on shows with a sizable audience and significant complexity. Experience working across multiple shows or formats is a strong plus. Bonus if you know your way around a DAW or NLE.

Compensation Range

$75,000-$100,000 USD per year

The above range only includes cash compensation. Each full-time employee in the US also receives equity compensation, alongside a top-tier benefits package (e.g., unlimited PTO, insurance, remote-flexible work, fully paid parental leave, 401(k) match, and stipends for spiritual development, health & wellness, home-office, and learning).

The above range for cash compensation refers to base salary. All full-time employees are also eligible to be considered for a discretionary bonus at the end of each fiscal year. These ranges are just initial estimates. They may vary depending on market or location and may be adjusted depending on the person we end up hiring for this role, their experience, and market dynamics.
