PRODUCE TEAM MEMBER - Fruit & Veg Prep

We are seeking team members who share our passion for holistic wellness and top tier customer experience to join Nature's Fare Markets in our new Chilliwack location. As part of our produce team, you are passionate about what helped get us started as a company – local and organic produce! This is an area that we are deeply rooted in and only offer 100% organic produce in our stores. As part of this role, you like helping others choose products that work best for their menu and giving some background on what farm their produce came from. This role also keeps our displays looking full and amazing with our colourful selection of fruits & vegetables.

This role is particularly focused on the ready to go fruit and vegetable offerings in store. We have many grab and go options that are prepped in store with our fresh, organic produce - cut watermelon, mixed berry bowls, coleslaw mix, fajita starters, guacamole just to name a few choices. Making grab and go offerings look great and eat delicious will be the daily challenge. If you love prepping (chopping, mixing, packaging) fresh fruit and veg, this would be a great fit.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Give a warm “hello!” to our customers as they enter the department – we like building connections with our new and regular customers and sharing a laugh along the way.
• Assist customers with questions they may have about products we and give suggestions based on their needs (don’t worry, we will train you on this!)
• Work with your team to stock displays throughout the day so it is easily accessible for customers when they need it.
• Use your creativity and eye for detail to make attractive and organized displays.
• Learn about new products and featured products that are on sale through Nature’s Fare’s flyers and magazines.
• In other words, you will help others, share your knowledge on our amazing products, be safe, be a great team player and have fun!

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Experience in produce, grocery, gardening and/or retail environment is preferred but not needed
• Experience in a customer service role is needed
• A passion for local, organic and sustainable food and natural supplements
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong work ethic and desire to contribute to people’s health and wellbeing
• Ability to work in an energetic, fast-paced environment
• Like to have fun!
