Job Description

Do you have the expertise and drive to strengthen responsible sourcing and human rights across a global supply chain? As Procurement Sustainability Manager – Supplier Due Diligence & Human Rights, you will play a key role in developing and embedding our approach to supplier due diligence, helping Procurement identify, manage and mitigate sustainability and human rights risks.

Are You Ready to Drive Responsible Sourcing and Positive Change?

This is your opportunity to shape and continuously improve supplier due diligence and human rights processes across Procurement.

You will act as the Procurement Sustainability Subject Matter Expert, combining specialist knowledge with hands-on execution. You will be working with suppliers, and you will own and develop due diligence processes, risk assessment methodologies, tools and governance, while supporting Procurement teams in applying them effectively across our supplier base.

Working closely with Procurement, Legal, Compliance, Sustainability and business stakeholders, you will help translate evolving human rights expectations and regulatory requirements into practical processes, controls and actions.

What Will Your Key Responsibilities Include?

  • Own and develop supplier due diligence – Manage and continuously improve supplier screening, risk assessment, onboarding, monitoring and escalation processes, including the methodologies, tools and governance supporting them.
  • Manage human rights risks – Identify salient human rights risks across the supply chain, coordinate assessments and support suppliers and internal stakeholders with mitigation, remediation and corrective action plans.
  • Drive regulatory readiness – Monitor developments in human rights and supply chain due diligence regulations and translate requirements into practical Procurement processes, controls and reporting.
  • Be the Procurement expert – Provide specialist advice to Procurement teams, leadership and relevant business stakeholders on responsible sourcing, human rights and supplier due diligence.
  • Build capability and engagement – Develop and deliver training and guidance for Procurement teams and suppliers, helping embed responsible sourcing into everyday decision-making.
  • Strengthen reporting and governance – Develop KPIs, management information and reporting, and ensure high-quality documentation for audits, customer requests and sustainability disclosures.
  • Drive continuous improvement – Monitor best practices, frameworks and industry developments and identify opportunities to strengthen Hempel’s approach to responsible sourcing.

You will play an important role in making responsible sourcing and human rights practical, measurable and embedded across Procurement, while helping Hempel stay prepared for evolving stakeholder and regulatory expectations.

Have You Got What We're Looking For?

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in responsible sourcing, human rights, supply chain sustainability, ESG due diligence or procurement sustainability.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier due diligence and human rights risk management.
  • Strong knowledge of international human rights standards and responsible sourcing frameworks.
  • Experience developing or implementing due diligence processes, risk assessment methodologies and supplier engagement programmes.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, with the ability to turn complex requirements into practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working across functions and influencing stakeholders without formal authority.

Can You Help Us Build a More Responsible Supply Chain?

  • Influential and collaborative, able to create alignment across Procurement and multiple business functions.
  • Structured and self-driven, taking ownership and ensuring that processes and actions are followed through.
  • Change-oriented, comfortable improving established ways of working and driving adoption.
  • Analytical and pragmatic, able to assess complex risks and translate them into practical actions.
  • Positive and solution-oriented, with the confidence to challenge constructively while building strong relationships.
  • Passionate about responsible business, with a genuine interest in human rights, sustainability and responsible sourcing.
