
The City of New York’s Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH) is the nation’s largest administrative tribunal, holding more than 250,000 trials and hearings a year. As the City’s central, independent administrative law court, OATH adjudicates a wide range of matters filed by nearly every city agency, board and commission. OATH also houses the Center for Creative Conflict Resolution which provides mediation and restorative justice support to City government agencies and the general public, and the Administrative Judicial Institute, a resource center that provides training, continuing education, research and support services for administrative law judges and hearing officers.
The Procurement Unit oversees the processing of all procurements for the OATH to meet the needs of the Agency. The purchases overseen by the unit include contracts for various goods and services and Information Technology needs, including software, hardware, maintaining and enhancing various Agency systems and special projects. The Procurement Unit is responsible for ensuring that all procurements are processed in accordance with the City’s Procurement Rules and Procedures.
The Procurement Unit is seeking a Summer Graduate Intern. The Procurement Summer Graduate Intern will gain hands-on technical experience through task specific office work and mentoring relationships with both junior and senior-level Procurement staff. The internship will familiarize the intern with the City Procurement process.
Responsibilities of the intern include but are not limited to:
- assist with Procurement/Purchasing intake from Divisions/Units,
- monitor and track requisitions from inception to completion,
- assist with preparing and processing purchase requests for all procurement methods,
- identify priorities and escalations based on the requested fulfilment dates,
- assist with encumbrances during pre-processing and the fiscal year change,
- perform other duties and assignments as may be required. The selected applicant will be assigned to the 100 Church Street office.
