Your mission:
• Procure commodities, technical materials, spare parts, equipment, maintenance services and other goods and services required by the business
• Ensure goods, materials and services are purchased in line with cost, quality, delivery and operational performance requirements
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned to operational, maintenance, reliability and cost objectives
• Prepare and manage RFIs, RFQs, RFPs and tender processes, including bid evaluations and supplier recommendations
• Analyse technical specifications, drawings, bills of materials and service scopes to ensure fit-for-purpose sourcing decisions
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, technical capability, delivery performance, commercial competitiveness, SHEQ compliance and risk profile
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties, service level agreements and contractual conditions
• Communicate and mitigate supply risks, disruptions and supplier-related issues impacting business continuity
• Drive cost savings, cost avoidance initiatives, value engineering, standardisation and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) improvements
• Support supplier onboarding, contract implementation, supplier performance reviews and governance processes
• Maintain compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, delegation of authority and ethical sourcing standards
• Monitor commodity trends, market developments and supply chain risks that may impact procurement performance
• Resolve supplier-related pricing and invoice issues where required
• Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis and sourcing updates as required
• Liaise effectively with suppliers, engineering, maintenance, operations, stores, finance, SHEQ and other stakeholders
Your profile:
• Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Engineering, CIPS Level 6 or an equivalent qualification
• 5+ years' experience in procurement, sourcing, category management or supply chain roles within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering, pulp and paper, chemical or related environment
• 3+ years of experience sourcing technical spares, MRO items, engineering services, capital equipment or maintenance-related categories
• Proven experience in supplier negotiations, tender management and contract implementation
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, supplier evaluation, commercial risk and contract management
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and effectively engage with engineering and operational stakeholders
• Experience working on ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving capabilities
• Tender and RFQ experience highly advantageous
• Valid South African Driver's License
