Chevron is accepting online applications for the Procurement Specialist position through July 1st at 11:59 PM.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Manages sourcing and purchasing of MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operation) Materials, equipment and Plant services for Capital Projects and Plant Operations
Conducts sourcing events using RFQ, Sealed bids and other latest techniques for materials and services. Performs commercial evaluation of the bids and facilitates bid clarification meetings with stakeholders. Finalizes the selection and follows through with Purchase Order (PO) execution
Proactively engages stakeholders in identifying, selecting and approving new material suppliers. Leads the Supplier Qualification (SQ) processes and maintains Approved Vendor List
Demonstrates proficiency in MRO materials and equipment sourcing to drive decisions and optimizes costs of purchases
Responsible for Order expediting process with vendors. Coordinates planning and scheduling with field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors to establish priorities
Drives implementation of global/regional initiatives and processes. Collaborates and communicates effectively across different functions and regions to realize procurement goals and objectives
Responsible for both local and overseas sourcing of materials and services
Develops annual contracting plan for management endorsement
Follows up with suppliers for any delivery discrepancies, claims and work with Finance to resolve invoice discrepancies
Periodically reviews Procurement systems and procedures for its effectiveness and relevancy
Negotiate with suppliers and contractors for the best possible terms and conditions
Performs commodity studies and market trend to help users with their cost estimate and budgeting purposes
Generates and reviews weekly, monthly Purchasing reports. Develops “Source to Pay (S2P)” metrics to track process effectiveness, efficiency and costs
Tracks safety, efficiency, reliability, and total cost performance of the suppliers
Applies working knowledge of Strategic Sourcing process to medium size sourcing events
Required Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in (Engineering/ Supply Chain or Business)
Knowledgeable experience in MRO Materials and Plant services sourcing, warehouse & inventory management or supply chain operations. At least 2 years is a plus.
Candidate must be capable to communicate (read, write and speak) in Spanish and English language.
Knowledgeable in Contracting and Procurement Process, eSourcing, contract administration, and eProcurement would be an advantage
Excellent planning, analytical, people and communication skills are essential to the job
Expertise in advanced data analytics using Power BI and MS Access / Excel will be a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledgeable with tools such as ARIBA, SAP, S/4 Hana, Ketera and GEP would be an advantage.
