Brief Description
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing key suppliers, negotiating the Company’s purchasing agreements and making sure materials and products meet the Company’s and customer’s specifications.

Key Responsibilities
• Build and maintain vendor relationships to secure the best prices on equipment and/or services.
• Prepare requests for quotation (RFQ).
• Obtain quotes for equipment and services when applicable.
• Create and issue purchase orders (PO) and obtain acknowledgements from suppliers.
• Monitor/track status of open orders and communicate updates to Project Manager.
• Coordinate procurement activities with engineering department including problem resolution.
• Update and maintain accurate information within the database.
• Ensure all purchase information is accurately and expeditiously captured within the procurement system.
• Ensure prompt communication on all purchases and effectively escalate issues with suppliers when applicable.
• Work with suppliers on quality, delivery, and price to ensure Project Manager’s needs are met by deadlines.
• Process and modify, when needed, purchasing transactions including requisitions and purchase orders.
• Support special projects as needed as the Procurement Specialist.
• Comply with Company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Ensure timely deliveries and resolve any supply issues or discrepancies.
• Enter and update orders in accounting system and project management system.
• Prepare documents for export compliance.
• Support domestic logistic needs.

Qualifications (Required)
• 2-5 years of work experience in planning, procurement, production control or logistics
• Systems experience ERP, Microsoft Office, Excel required.

Other Valued Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Preferred)
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing methodology is a plus.
