Reporting to the Manager of Procurement, this position supports transactional and strategic activities of the procurement department. The procurement specialist will focus on tracking and managing procure-to-pay process metrics and will act as the functional support for Workday Procurement module.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 Years Experience in Supply Chain or Procurement in any industry
  • Workday experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a functional resource on any ERP system,
  • Experience working with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO)
  • Experience with working in Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX)
  • Experience with resolving price and invoice discrepancies
  • Experience in Healthcare Supply Chain
  • Experience with working on multiple systems

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline

  • Ability to lead projects independently
  • Analytical thinking to review data and find root cause for problem solving
  • In-depth knowledge of purchasing processes and ability to identify and tackle issues independently
  • Ability to work with multiple teams including sourcing, accounts payable, distribution to resolve issues

Job Responsibilities

  • Track and maintain procurement operational metrics to ensure quality, efficiency, and timeliness across all procurement operations.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in procurement operational metrics including price exceptions, match exceptions, open orders, order acknowledgements, backorders etc.
  • Support the Manager, Procurement to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and other procurement operational documents.
  • Collaborate with strategic sourcing specialist and data team to minimize price variance on Purchase Order transactions.
  • Establish partnership with key departments such as accounts payable, distribution, sourcing, and optimization team to mitigate any operational issues.
  • Serve as functional resource for Workday Procurement module. Become proficient at Workday procurement business processes to act as the super user.
  • As a functional resource for Workday, participate and execute end user testing for new business processes and configurations.
  • Provide training to staff members, internal and external customers on Workday procurement business processes.
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert for Workday Procurement module.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Support routine procurement functions on as-needed basis including but not limited to – buyer functions, capital, and service purchase order creation.
