Procurement & Sourcing LeadWe’re looking for a proactive Procurement & Sourcing Lead to join our team on a 12-month maternity leave cover contract. This role plays a critical part in delivering high‑quality procurement outcomes for our client, with a strong focus on sourcing and onboarding Local Contractors to support proactive and reactive maintenance services.
Scope and Purpose of Role
The Procurement and Sourcing Lead is responsible for the procurement and sourcing to meet the client deliverables of Local Trades Contractors in Sydney's western suburbs as required to meet the demand for proactive and reactive maintenance services. This includes the planning, procuring, contract preparation, Local Contractor registration and on-boarding of Local Contractors
that is to be undertaken to establish the maintenance activities as detailed in the client scope.
Objectives for the Procurement and Sourcing Lead:
Local Contractor sourcing and engagement under client supplied and approved templates to ensure effective delivery of requirements;
Meet and exceed project delivery targets (timeframes and quality);
Strive for continuous improvement
Research and analysis of service categories to support the sourcing and procurement of truly local contractors
Development and execution of the Procurement Plan
Responsibility for management of Local Contractors at a contract level as appropriate
Key Relationships
External relationships: this role will liaise with Local Contractors in Sydney's western suburbs, industry groups, the community in which you are working
and the client.
Internal relationships: this role will liaise with all client account team members and Cushman & Wakefield support functions.
Accountabilities
Ensure that all procurement and contract management activities undertaken as part of the Services promote and facilitate the Local Community Objectives;
Meet the targets set out in the Approved Aboriginal, SME and Local Participation Plan and the Workforce Skills and Opportunities Plan; and
Ensure, to the extent consistent with the Services, that the Local Contractors meet their contractual targets in relation to Aboriginal, SME and Local Participation and their trainee, apprenticeship and other workforce skills development commitments.
Relationships
Develop/ manage client relationships for effective understanding and leverage of client requirements
Respond to client requests effectively, in a professional and timely manner
Provide a high quality service to the client
Support, develop and build Local Contractor relationships
Analysis
Able to perform analysis to service categories under contract (spend, market trends, benchmarks, supplier market analysis) or direct others appropriately
Understand cost components and drivers, and total cost of ownership
Improve service levels based on analysis and interrogation of likely outcomes, and manage the delivery of those commitments
Investigate and develop supply sources
Strategy and Sourcing Plan
Assess client requirements and recommend most appropriate strategies to respond to client needs
Engage with C&W staff and client stakeholders at a level that allows an understanding of account strategy and operations and ensures appropriate solutioning
Provide information and advice on market conditions and procurement
Prepare Procurement Strategy, and Evaluation Plans for approval by client/internal stakeholder
Delivery of Events
Investigate and develop supply sources, submit for inclusion on the approved tender list and maintain communication with Suppliers on a regular basis
Conduct procurement process to meet agreed objectives, deadlines, probity and guidelines
Prepare Procurement Strategy and Tender Evaluation Plan for approval by the client
Conduct analysis and prepare Tender Evaluation Reports and Recommendations
Appraise prices and conduct a commercial evaluation by liaising with subject matter experts and tenderers and advise unsuccessful bidders of result
Ensure that appropriate contracts are being put in place
Manage implementation process for new contracts
Provide debrief for suppliers, as requested, at the conclusion of the procurement process
Management of Relevant Local Contractors
Advise agreed stakeholder of any complaints and assist in solutioning and engagement with suppliers
Conduct supplier/service provider to monitor supplier performance as required
Ensure suppliers are treated ethically, fairly and with respect at all times
Develop co-operative and mutually beneficial supplier relationships
Probity & Compliance
Adherence to all C&W and client policies and procedures.
Compliance to State and Commonwealth statutory and regulatory legislation where appropriate for specific clients
Maintain probity compliance at all times
Reporting Ensure that client reporting requirements are understood and that a schedule meeting obligations is put in place

Comply with Cushman & Wakefield delegations policy
Background and Experience
Five years’ of services procurement related experience
Experience in property/facility services will be highly regarded, but not essential
Proven track record in the delivery of high quality procurement advice and delivery of sourcing events at a granular level in an operational environment.
Collaborative approach with ability to develop and manage effective, mutually beneficial business
Relationships with small to medium enterprises.
Operational mindset – must consider that everything must be operationalised and able to be delivered and managed without additional cost, complexity or resourcing other than that captured in the business case or strategy document
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of contract law
High levels of initiative with the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous sourcing projects and varied demands on time
Valid working rights in Australia.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
Experience in a similar operational procurement position, ideally within a facilities management environment
Preferred tertiary qualified with either a relevant business degree or equivalent
Proven track record in the delivery of high quality research and data analysis for procurement
Proven ability to support source-to-contract initiatives including participation in face-to-face negotiations and drive
discussions to meet desired outcomes.
Strong ability to influence, manage key stakeholder expectations and clearly express ideas, concepts and models
Exceptional presentation skills
Strong skills in MS Office
Superior problem-solving ability to identify and deliver solutions
High levels of initiative with the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous sourcing projects
Active “hands on” approach with a “can do” attitude
Effective team work skills based on a collaborative approach.
