The Procurement Officer II, under the supervision of the Procurement and Contract Services Manager, collaborates with City departments to efficiently process solicitations for commodities and services. Facilitates contract administration; monitors and resolves issues with contract compliance in accordance with City’s Procurement policies and procedures.

Salary range: $51,042-$65,337 annually

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• Three years of experience in public procurement.
• NIGP CPPB (Certified Professional Public Buyer) or CPP (Certified Procurement Professional) certification
• Equivalent combination of education and procurement experience may be considered.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of procurement principles, practices and methods; negotiation; problem solving; effective communications; contracts; specification writing; and bid evaluation skills.
• Preferred knowledge of municipal government operations including applicable State, Federal and local laws, regulations and ordinances; processes and procedures; and understanding of insurance provisions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
• Ability to organize data in the form of a chart/graph/table and present the data to assist internal departments in.
