Procurement Officer

Cape Town, Helderberg

R360k - R420k Per Annum

A company specializing in delivering complete and comprehensive certification-ready Automation, Simulation, Communication, and Ground Control Solutions seeks a Procurement Officer.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Employee will work as a Procurement Officer, scope of work will include but are not limited to:

a. Requesting quotations and ordering materials from approved suppliers to meet the companys demand;

b.Maintaining acceptable levels of materials and accurate documentation on the ERP;

c.Timely creation and submission of Purchase Orders for approval via the ERP;

d.Completing external provider evaluations to ensure compliance with AS9100;

e.Conducting incoming inspections once material has arrived;

f.Capturing purchased stock and materials on the ERP;

g.Addressing supplier queries promptly and efficiently;

h.Communicating progress from vendors and suppliers to team members and managers;

i.Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times product ranges, etc;

k.Complying with current company procurement procedures and policies; and

l.Performing minor support roles within the company as required.

2. REQUIREMENTS:

2.1. Minimum Qualifications:

a.Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain/Purchasing; or equivalent; or suitable experience in excess of 10 years.

2.2. Required Skills and Experience:

a.2-5 years of relevant industry experience;

b.Excellent English communication skills (both verbal and written);

c.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel etc);

d.Excellent administrative & organisational skills;

e.Excellent planning & coordinating skills;

f.Strong communication and negotiation skills;

g.Good analytical and strategic thinking skills;

h.A good understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and potential issues; and

i.Pro-active approach to own and manage technical query processes between suppliers and engineers.

2.3. Recommended Skills and Experience:

a.Experience in procurement of Electronic components;

b.Experience in coordinating international shipping from suppliers; and

c.Familiar with ERP systems.
