About the role
As an Elders Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for executing category strategies to deliver cost savings, ensure supply continuity, and improve efficiency through best-practice procurement processes. You will proactively review your assigned categories and work with SMEs to enhance value through the RFx process, contract scrutiny, supplier performance management, and internal process optimisation. You will also be responsible for managing and prioritising the work pipeline using data-driven insights to eliminate waste and identify opportunities for improved and more cost-effective management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full Source-to-Contract process, including supplier negotiations and tender/project management.
  • Use data-driven analysis to assess spend, benchmark costs, identify savings opportunities, and drive implementation.
  • Manage supplier performance through KPIs/SLAs and conduct regular reviews to ensure best-practice procurement.
  • Engage and balance stakeholder needs across the business, ensuring customer focus and strong cross-level relationships.
  • Maintain and improve the procurement pipeline, optimising team workload and reducing operational peaks.
  • Identify and drive improvements across Procurement and Procure-to-Pay processes while escalating compliance gaps.
  • Support accurate vendor master data, uphold safety priorities, and contribute to category hierarchy management.

About you

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in procurement/commodity management, with relevant tertiary qualifications (or working towards them).
  • Proven use of category management and spend analysis to identify and drive cost savings, supported by strong business acumen and Excel-based cost/benefit and scenario analysis.
  • Strong understanding of total cost drivers, inventory management, KPIs and SLAs, and experience leading supplier performance reviews.
  • Skilled in running tender processes, managing contracts, and using KPIs/SLAs to guide supplier meetings and outcomes.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, including comfort with difficult conversations.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) with intermediate Excel capability and familiarity with vendor master data and spend analysis.
  • Knowledge of retail, network distribution, operations, fleet, or agriculture is highly regarded.
