What you’ll do
Technology Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Own sourcing strategy and commercial negotiations for the Technology & Software spend category (cloud, SaaS, R&D tools, enterprise software, tech professional services).
- Lead Microsoft EA renewals, licence true-ups, and co-terming; manage cloud vendor agreements (AWS, Azure, GCP) including committed-use and reserved-capacity negotiations.
- Drive vendor consolidation across the technology stack - reducing supplier count and eliminating licence duplication.
- Manage strategic vendor relationships and own performance/risk frameworks for critical technology suppliers.
Software Asset Management (SAM)
- Define and execute SAM strategy: licence compliance, renewal planning, and tool rationalisation.
- Oversee the monthly SAM reporting framework - licence tracking, renewal calendar, and risk flags to Finance and IT.
- Identify right-sizing and consolidation opportunities, targeting measurable annual savings.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Act as procurement business partner to R&D, IT, and Technology Finance - embedded in planning cycles and major spend decisions.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement processes (PRS, ServiceNow workflows, audit requirements).
AI & Automation
- Apply AI tools (including Claude and similar platforms) to procurement workflows: contract analysis, spend intelligence, RFP drafting.
- Collaborate with the Procurement Operations team to identify and implement AI-assisted automation opportunities.
What to Have for this position
Must Have
- 6 - 10 years in technology procurement or IT sourcing within a technology or enterprise software company.
- Proven experience negotiating Microsoft EA, cloud hyperscaler agreements, and SaaS enterprise contracts.
- Software Asset Management - licence tracking, compliance, renewal management.
- Strong commercial acumen: TCO modelling, business case development, savings delivery.
- Experience with ERP/P2P systems (SAP, ServiceNow, or equivalent).
- Fluent English.
- Proven track record working for a Born in the Cloud or Cloud Native technology company - Must have
Preferred
- Hands-on use of AI tools in a professional context - Claude, ChatGPT, or similar LLM platforms.
- Experience building or directing AI agents or automated workflows.
- Cloud FinOps knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP cost optimisation).
- CIPS or equivalent procurement qualification.
