Global Procurement (GP) is accountable for the strategic sourcing of Direct Materials, Tooling and Equipment, needed for the manufacturing and assembly of Dyson products, securing the material readiness for product launches and achieving the cost targets of the bills of material.
We are looking for a Global Commodity Manager who will be responsible for the Global commodity procurement activities (end-to-end) for plastic/resin sub commodities.
You will be the Dyson Global Commodity Expert both strategically and operationally.
Responsible for the Global Commodity Strategy, ensuring it is implemented and continuously evolving as well as being relevant to the Company Blueprint, Company technology roadmap, Global Mega trends and market forces.
The role will ensure adherence to the complete Global Commodity process (including, but not limited to, the RFQ for initial project development, transferred projects and current projects) according to company policy and the 5 rights approaches. (Right source/quality/cost/qty/time).
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) - Identify and implement SRM development plans for all the suppliers within the commodity.
Identify and evaluate potential alternate suppliers globally, assessing their technical and innovative capabilities, quality standards, and cost competitiveness.
Responsible for leading all negotiations for pricing, contracts and SLA’s and leadtime.
Devising creative cost down opportunities with suppliers to maximise savings and growth potential
Organise, utilise and lead both internal and external resources to ensure the Global commodity objectives are achieved.
Enhancing data and insight of the commodity to proactively make strategic decisions to benefit the business.
Partner with stakeholders across multiple functions particularly RDD on cost engineering and design for cost.
Manage the supply base to deliver sourcing on cost, on time, on spec and on quality.
Business or Engineering Degree level qualification or above.
Substantial experience in procurement/supply chain and direct material sourcing.
Has previously Managed Product Development and various types of Commodities.
Proficient negotiator with proven abilities in influencing people at all levels in the organization.
Good knowledge of legal regulations and contract setting.
Self-motivated, accurate and operates with the highest ethical standards.
Demonstrate understanding of technical, manufacturing and testing methods and processes relevant to the commodity.
Thrives in ambiguity and a faced paced environment
Proven track record of proactive leadership of complex, global programs.
Proven track record of successful Commodity Management.
Fluent spoken and written English.
