Downer Rail and Transit Systems (RTS) is seeking a motivated Procurement Delivery Manager to join our high-performing Procurement & Supply-Chain team. Downer RTS is a market leader in rollingstock asset management, offering end-to-end solutions across design, manufacture, maintenance, and overhaul. Our team manages strategic relationships with critical suppliers to support Through-Life Support (TLS) activities and deliver innovative turnkey solutions for complex rail projects nationwide.

The Opportunity

As the Procurement Delivery Manager, you will:

  • Work closely with engineering, delivery and commercial teams to align procurement strategies with project needs.
  • Lead procurement planning and execution in support of critical TLS activities ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement procurement process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Participate in strategic planning and workshops to align procurement activities with broader business objectives.
  • Drive supplier performance, contract management, and risk mitigation.


About you

You will bring:

  • Motivation, proactivity, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and suppliers.
  • A strong technical background and confidence in detailed supplier discussions.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a resource-constrained environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop managerial and leadership capabilities.
  • 5+ years in procurement, supply chain, or commercial roles (rail, infrastructure, engineering, or manufacturing preferred).
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiations, contract management, and project delivery.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.


Desirable:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Commerce, etc.).
  • Professional certifications (CIPS, MCIPS, CPP/CPPM, APICS, or equivalent) are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel/Word/Outlook/Power BI).
