As our Procurement Manager (Chemicals, Materials and Process Plant) you’ll be working closely with the Commercial Procurement Leadership Team and across the wider business in the development and delivery of Supply Chain and Procurement Strategy. We have ambitious plans for significant investments in our region. Your role will be to ensure our sourcing and category management delivers effective supplier performance across over £200m of critical operational goods and services per annum.
This is a great opportunity to shape a high-profile category area, influence decisions across the business and lead others to deliver meaningful commercial outcomes. You’ll use insight, judgement and collaboration to identify opportunities to reduce risk, improve value and strengthen supplier performance across Anglian Water. You’ll also lead and support a team in developing category plans, sourcing strategies, contractual negotiations and cost controls, ensuring our internal customers receive the goods, services and support they need.
You’ll need to work within Anglian Water’s own processes and controls as well as The Procurement Act 2023, ensuring compliance and driving good practice in sourcing and contract management. A key part of this role is to ensure Framework Management processes are implemented and effective so that value from sourcing is delivered into the P&L.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting the best from people. You may already have experience of managing and developing a team, or you may be ready to take the next step from leading projects, coaching colleagues or influencing others into your first formal people-management role. Either way, you’ll bring the confidence, curiosity and communication skills to set direction, support development and create an environment where people can do their best work.
Our successful Procurement Manager will ideally be educated to degree level and either hold, or be working towards, their CIPS professional standard and membership. We’re open to candidates who can demonstrate either established people-management experience or strong readiness to step into a management role, supported by evidence of leading work, coaching others or influencing across teams. We’re also one of the driest regions in the country, with just 600 millimetres of rain each year, on average a third less than the rest of England. In fact some areas have a lower annual rainfall than Jerusalem. That’s why it’s vital that we look after the water that we’ve got.
